They were thought to have went extinct hundreds of millions of years ago. Instead a live specimen was found in a Japanese fish market

You really think something that big could live in the USA this long without any proof of existing? You don't think by now that some hillbilly would have shot one and turned it in for the money? Come on, man. Be honest with yourself. With all the tech we have now you can't compare this to finding a panda for the first time. I could go out right now and get night vision gear if I wanted too, or even thermal gear, etc., it's a whole different world than it was back then. Also you can't compare this to a coelacanth because this is on land. In the USA. I know I'm repeating myself but honestly it's a very important point. How do you think it could stay hidden for so long in the fucking USA? And if you tell me you're one of those nuts who thinks bigfoot is a 5th dimensional entity or whatever I'm out of here
