Same. Zombies don't scare me at all so that's why I wasn't into it. Like I don't really get how people can be afraid of something that's dumber than they are...zombies are brainless, they're completely retarded, zero intelligence, what the fuck is scary about that?
Aliens or interdimensional beings are what scare me the most because they're so much more advanced and intelligent than we are, which makes us completely powerless against them. Zombies you just bash their fucking heads in. Like seriously...boring.

I sound retarded for saying that zombies don't scare me? That's called an opinion, chief. Nothing is inherently scary, so if something that scares you doesn't scare me, that doesn't make me retarded, it just means we disagree. Don't rage so hard about it.

Anon, the Rec films are about zombies.

Yes, OK, it's an especially virulent, fast-acting, easy communicable rabies virus. But that's just a hand-waving plot device. It's still just zombies.
>>
>>19090046

I never said it wasn't. There demonic zombies but the concept itself is creepy as fuck. So is the atmosphere in those films. What kind of horror do you like anon? Slasher, Monster movies, Ghosts?
>>
>>19090424
>concept itself is creepy as fuck
To you.
Not to everybody.
Not objectively.
And that's okay.

>There demonic zombies
That's not a thing. Either they are zombies, or they are demons. Demonic zombies doesn't make any sense. Zombies are corpses of people who died which have been reanimated (generally by a virus). Demons are entities which can possess and take over the bodies of living humans. You can't have "demonic zombies."
>>
>>19090449
What if a zombie bites someone who is possessed by a demon?
>>
>>19090460
Then the body will die and the zombie virus will take over. Demons can't inhabit dead bodies.

That shit got unheard of scores for a horror movie made recently.

I guess my major gripes with it were logic based. I couldn't take that shit seriously as soon as I realized it was a metaphor for STDs, and the fact that they randomly decided to try and electrocute it in a pool despite being given no indication that that would work really made me hate it.

Honestly, I think it would have been a great movie without that. Just couldn't get past it, personally.

>>
>>19090495
No, I said earlier that I only saw part of the first one. I actually stopped watching it when I found out it was a zombie movie (I didn't do any research on it beforehand because I like to be surprised). I wasn't really feeling into it so far anyway, plus I'm not a fan of zombie movies in general. I just personally find the concept to be overused and boring, and it's not scary or creepy to me at all.
But you're saying they aren't zombies after all? This confuses me. Maybe I'll have to revisit it and actually finish it this time.
>>
>>19090533
Well I suppose if we're getting technical a demon could sort of move a corpse around like a doll, but obviously that wouldn't be the same as a zombie.
>>
>>19090612

>I couldn't take that shit seriously as soon as I realized it was a metaphor for STDs
I mean, I don't see why that would matter. In the movie's universe "it" is a very real entity. I read recently that the guy who designed the alien from the Alien franchise wanted it to be a sort of physical metaphor for rape, but I don't think that takes away from the creature itself at all because it's something outside the movie's universe--in the universe it's still a real creature. Same with It Follows. Who cares what the filmmaker was trying to make it a metaphor for? In the story it's an actual creature, and I found it creepy as fuck. I just don't see why you would let anything outside the movie influence your feelings about the movie. It's like people who won't see a movie with a certain actor because they find out the actor has different political beliefs than they do, or if people stopped liking Tom Cruise movies or Mel Gibson movies after they went crazy. Idk...just my opinion but I don't think you should let stuff like that bother you. Watch a movie and be fully immersed in the story, live in that world while you watch it. That's the whole point of a good story.

>and the fact that they randomly decided to try and electrocute it in a pool despite being given no indication that that would work really made me hate it.

But they had no idea what to do, I mean yeah they had no idea if it would work either, but that was pretty much their best option, I thought.

>it was a metaphor for STDs

Anon, every teen slasher flick is a metaphor for STDs. Freddy Krueger and Jason Vorheez are STDs.

If anything, it was a satire of the horror genre.
>>
>>19091504
This 100%

I mean seriously, in all those movies, Friday, Halloween, etc. it's mostly just teenagers getting killed while having sex or shortly after having sex or on their way to have sex. It's not even subtle. But that doesn't make the movies any less good.
>>
>>19091503

>>19092396
I gotta say, they aren't the worst horror movies ever, I mean they have some creepy moments, and they definitely deliver on jumpscares even though that's obviously the cheapest form of horror. That being said, they're all pretty much exactly the same, so I don't see how somebody could like one and not others. I only watched the first 4, idk if they've made more but I'm assuming they have.

Anyway, yeah...if youre just looking for jumpscares and a little bit of creepiness, you could do a lot worse.
>>
>>19092387
I guess it's fine if you just stream everything then, but I personally think it's better to have backups.

And besides, if you just want that one movie and can only find it via torrent, get a free VPN then and grab it using that and then turn the VPN off or delete it. You're already giving up some privacy with the streaming services so a VPN shouldn't matter that much (granted it's obviously more invasive).
>>
>>19092434

This was so fucking horrible.

Somebody wanted a found footage movie but somebody else disagreed so they showed both the found footage split screen with actors recreating the found footage actors, complete with shitty wipes. Why? Were we really not supposed to understand that the foundfootage people were actors? Was this supposed to help us suspend disbelief? Does MIla Jovovovovovich not get enough shit for her horrible Resident Evil movies she has to make horrible non-Resident Evil movies? What's the deal with ancient Sumerian mixing with Aliens? That's retarded. How many times do the monsters have to turn to the camera and open their mouths unnaturally wide, just in one movie? Isn't it enough that same cliche gets a scene in every single shitty horror movie? They had to do it mulitple times in this one?

I mean I remember from the previews that this movie is supposed to be set in Nome, Alaska, yet every exterior shot has a lush green rainforest outside. Turns out that was the least of this movie's stupidity.

just watching it. Im at the scene where that dude is in the bed. In the "original" tape he is flying into the fucking air.

Are these truly real recordings?
>>
>>19095721
are you retarded?
>>
>>19095791
I was.
>>
>>19091887
Oh yes, I would like to add:
Suspiria
Beyond the Black Rainbow (more a style over substance - the visuals and music are pretty cool)
>>
VHS 1 and 2 are good
>>
>>19091503

Very underrated.
Plot holes be damned!

I want to watch to most pretentious horror movie there is. I love that shit. Bonus points if it's foreign except for Japan. I want to watch something like A Field in England or El Topo but in horror format. No movies seems to scratch that itch for me.
>>
>>19089875
Good picks.
>>
>>19096099
The Wailing. Korean film.
>>
>>19096099
Rubber. It's the only film I've ever actually rated a single star on Netflix. I'm extremely lenient of 'bad' horror films, but Rubber was so fucking terrible that I almost turned it off multiple times. It's the most contrived, idiotic, psuedo-intellectual garbage ever.

You'll love it, I'm sure. Go for it anon.
>>
>>19096137
Fucking chinks again. I guess they're the only ones making decent horror movies anymore. Gonna give it a watch.
>>19096146
I like my pretentious movies with a little more production value. I've seen the trailer and I don't feel it's worth it. In fact I think this should have stayed a trailer, we got the joke, no need to do a movie about it.
>>
>>19096161
Well, in that case try pretty much anything from the new French extremism movement, or Lars von Trier. Check out Meloncholia by Trier or Martyrs by Laugier.
>>
>>19089793
I think we've found the director of the movie on /x/
>>
>>19096202
I watched almost everything by him. I started watching Riget a while ago. Antichrist was great. I hated Martyrs though. It was so over the top and corny that I laughed a few times.
>>
>>19096161
You said pretentious, not good.
>>
>>19096241
Pretentious in a sarcastic way. I saw Upstream Color and thought it was amazing even though everybody says it's pretentious.
>>
>>19095286
that movie had potential, but Radcliffe was waaay too young for that role
>>
>>19091321
>I read recently that the guy who designed the alien from the Alien franchise wanted it to be a sort of physical metaphor for rape

Stan Winston is alive? Mandela Effect confirmed.
>>
>>19095791
Hey you are saying that but they told us, these are real recordings...
>>
>>19095804
>Beyond the Black Rainbow
Good taste anon, good taste.
>>
>>19088952
This.
>>
>>19089126
you must be retarded if you find this spooky
>>
>>19092377
>memeblock
copyright trolls can still see all IPs in the swarm even if you block peers
>>
>>19097362
When they tell you that a movie happened a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, do you think that's real?
>>
>>19089190
I had my hand on my dick through that entire movie
>>
>>19095254
>>19089126
>>19089426
good choices
Id have to personally say Hellraiser and Hellbound Hellraiser
>>
>>19089426
Get the fuck out of here with your poor excuse of a horror movie
>>
>>19089823
great movie, but not scary at all
>>
Holy Mountain was pretty god damn bizzare.
>>
>>19090046
The ending and sequel specifically elaborate that it is in fact a demon.

>>b..b..b..b..but but but but you just dont understaaaaaaaaaaaand it! :((((((((((((((((((((((((((("
Wait. I haven't seen this movie yet. Are you saying a movie called "Coherence" is... incoherent?

>>19091503
Noroi made me want to look up more about Japanese spiritualism, and the belief in evil spirits. Unfortunately I had no idea where to look. It's easily the best movie that director's done though.
>>
>>19097362
They also told us the Blair Witch Project was found in the woods.
>>
>>19103101
I can't remember the ending of Rec, but in Quarantine the ending is an emaciated zombie of a crazy bioterrorist.

Was it different in Rec?
>>
>>19095294
It's about missing children. Radcliffe inside the house was the best part of the movie for me

>That scene when the officer kills himself in the bath room because he's trapped by the zombies

That fucked me up really bad when first saw it.
>>
>>19103209
in rec we see the "zombie" vomit the demonic parasite into Angela's mouth
