This might sound like RP now, but I'm actually serious. Think twice if you want to progress with this.

It's tricky too, because in my experience, if you want it to happen, it won't happen.

But first things first, you have to get really good at meditation, at observing. Also there might be other paths to this, I will just write what helped me to getting where I am now in my spiritual being.

1. learn mindfulness meditation professionally. Takes about two months of dedication. palousemindfulness.com has such a free course for example.

2. now that you've learned how to observe your breath and body, switch to meditate on your thoughts and feelings, for another two months or so, and try to do it all the time, during your daily life.

3. smoking weed helps as a catalyst in my experience, but is not necessary. now you want to try to observe something else than your thoughts and feelings. try to observe, the observer. in a deep state of meditation, ask yourself, who is it that observes all this. I can't give you any more hints than this, but if you do it right, something miraculous might happen to you.

4. your now on well away on your journey, as said in my post above, just go with the flow, don't fight it, if your falling: dive.

I started trying to piece together a holistic, scientific, allegorical understanding of the universe nonstop a couple months ago. I was compelled to draw pictures describing the things I was seeing in my mind, I would have dreams I couldn't remember but simply knew were about the nature of the universe, and was writing each and every day thousands of words on the topic from religion, to science, to psychology, to philosophy, etc.

So many things made me cry. It felt as though I had attained a taste of purpose and meaning.

After the fact, I'd joined up in science groups and talked about my ideas on the hyper-dimensionality of existence and the baseline "observation" of all things within some kind of inter-connected, fractal, self-containing soup/knot in as scientific and objective a manner as I could. Now I'm friends with physicists and writers for science magazines and they all think I'm just a bright physics student because I don't babble about the deeper implications of my ideas.

However, people who I have told about the meaning behind my ideas think I might have schizophrenia and need help. And honestly, even though I feel as though I understand what I'm doing to my mind (lately trying to induce waking hallucinations as I degrade the barrier between sleep and wake, which has been effective before bed), the constant concern makes me scared about just being insane.

I'm sure other people feel that, and I wonder how you get over it without either abandoning your beliefs or rejecting the counsel of your friends? I wanted to bring purpose back, but all I have are ideas now.

At the same time, I was very into science as well as literature.

At some point a few months ago I did LSD, but it wasn't exactly revolutionary or anything. Life had become drastically better for me recently (after a near-fatal OD where I was unable to understand my own thoughts and felt as though I was being dragged into the Warp), but I'd still been ruminating on stuff. Then, all of a sudden, I get high one day a week later and just get struck by some idea. I can't even remember what it was.

I ran upstairs and started scribbling on an envelope. Then I started writing, and a month later I had a bunch of envelopes and pamphlets with scribbles and 200k words worth of ramblings. Trying to understand my psyche, the universe, metaphysics, etc.

So, it was a long time coming, but it did just kind of spontaneously happen. Towards the end, life had become a living dream. My mind felt different, objects breathed around me, I felt like I was disconnected from my body. I feel like I'm not crazy because when I present my ideas as best I can, people with PhDs think I'm not crazy. Just plain hyper-object torus universe.

But when I present my ideas with the emotion and meaning, people tell me I need to see a psychiatrist and get on medication. I felt as though I finally found happiness, just briefly, but enough to justify my life. Or when I tell people I've gained the ability to control hallucinations after meditation, in the dark. I feel like I'm not crazy, but I keep being told I am and it makes me worry.

True I suppose, but once upon a time people talked to each other about their feelings and weird ideas. St. Augustine cried when he found God and wrote a whole book about his ideas on philosophy and theology and his whole life revolved around talking to his friends and family about it. Not that I'm saying I'm ANYTHING like him at all, just that there are many many times in history where people got obsessive with things and told people about them, but what was once seen as a positive part of life is now a negative one. If you read into history, especially of philosophy, lots of people who pursued it did so with all their person and heart. I'm sure they'd be called mentally ill today.

Drug use also used to be part of a lot of cultures, in a spiritual sense more than scientific or philosophical but still. Holism doesn't work if you don't integrate as much as you can.

But still, yeah, maybe it's just projection from a mentally ill mind. I don't know, if you're kind of the same way, what do you do about it?

In my opinion, don't give too much about the mentally ill stereotype, that's just a label. a scary one with lots of negativity attached to it though. Having said that, this path you walk is narrow and on both sides lies the abyss of insanity. Psychiatry, while it doesn't know much, has some mighty tools to keep this kind of experience in check. Should it get out of hand, don't be afraid to seek their help and get on neuroleptics, should you feel it's necessary to come back from the experience.

I would only advice you to do this, if this kind of experiences start to impact your (academic) life negatively, because this label of schizophrenia, the negative stereotypes etc. can have a dark impact on you and your life.

Considering talking with your friends, especially uneducated ones about things like this, is hard, I usually don't do it, and hence kind of suffer from the isolating aspect of it. I haven't found a good way around it, but they'll never understand, and uneducated ones often don't seem to even want to understand.

As said, I kind of suffer from the isolating aspects of it, as I can't talk about these topics that I hold so dear to my heart as often as I like to. And as you point out, integrating these kind of experiences is a vital part of it all, and talking about it is important too, not just thinking about it in isolation.

I recently joined a facebook group, with people who experienced things like this, and I could talk a little bit about it on there, but those guys aren't educated and most of them are just spiritual and haven't really been through such an awakening or whatever you want to call it, themselves. Finding real "brown pilled" people is hard, they are rare.

If possible, I'd want to find a place online at least, to discuss this with people. But I couldn't find any, not after years of searching for one.

I think we'd have to set up one for ourselves, but gathering people like us with a genuine interest to discuss and integrate our experiences, will be hard, because we are rare. A discord channel together with a shared wordpress blog where we could write and share our ideas would suffice for a start, I think.

Maybe it's just an idea of mine that will bear no fruits, but maybe it's also a good one. Would you care to join such a discord channel and stick with it and keep an eye out for others who want to talk about their experiences after having taken the "brown pill"? If so I'd be willing to set up a discord and wordpress for us to keep in contact, you seem like a guy I'd like to discuss these kind of experiences with, but we'd need others.

What I need found useful for a discussion on this is a form of critical thinking, of reasoning skills and logic thinking. The ability of not romanticizing every spiritual experience, of being able to see two sides of the coin, of not thinking in black and white, for example, you can be diagnosed as schizophrenic and still have some truth to your words, you can have a profound spiritual awakening experience but still take your pills against it. It's a matter of balance that has to be found.

What I call "uneducated" people will either call you crazy and shut you off completely, or will fall to the other extreme, and say to you that it's a wonderful spiritual adventure you should go on and not listen to the psychiatrist lies and never take those nasty pills and only listen to God. It has never worked when it has been attempted before. Look at the history of Amerindian civilizations, Egypt, Sumeria, Persia, and India. I find race to be too fuzzy a line to draw identity on, if you are referring to whiteness being race that is, because the average Portuguese man looks very different to a slav.
