I've never been a fan of the idea of fate or Truman Syndrome on a personal level but I do believe that collectively, as a whole, the population of Earth is guided, be it intentionally by an organization or subconsciously towards certain events. Anyway, when you start thinking about things abstractly, or like a play, a lot of things going on now make sense. For example, and I really don't mean to get political but this is when this concept first struck me.

When it was Trump vs. Hillary for the last election, towards the end pretty much everyone I could hear was saying Hillary was a shoe in and Trump had shot himself in the foot too many times to even be taken seriously.

But from an outside perspective, purely based on OUR "entertainment", OUR need to be distracted in some form or just entertained, what would be the best outcome? Hillary wining like expected and then four years of nothing? No, Trump would win enabling everyone to be shocked in some shape or form and keep our attention. Trump winning, for better or worse, had a bigger impact on all of our lives.

But we will still live in a society where commerce will rule and people will need some way to make ends meet. How do you solve a problem like that?

There are so many negative things looming on the horizon for humanity, and by comparison there aren't many positives. Most of the positives are a result of NOT doing the negatives. But those problems aren't that easy.

IMO a lot of information doled out to us makes us naturally lean towards this lifestyle. With everything we hear about the future we know that, in a world where we don't self destruct, our biggest concern will be what we do with ourselves. There's not a projected future that has humans continuing to work an every day job. Either robots take over, we meld our brains with computers, or AI takes over. With how much exposure to knowledge/media we have now EVERYONE can know this is a possible future, and it's likely one most of us will see in our lifetime.
