Sup /x/, I just devoured the Uzumaki, Gyo and Tomie collections by Junji Ito, and was wondering: do you have any personal recommendations for horror comics and manga? I'm keen on cosmic horror, but any genre is appreciated.

yeah common mistake, since it is his trademark.
"he loved him a good butthole"
There was one comic I read years ago about babies giving birth to more babies in this dark, dystopian future. It was more satirical than horror but the way it was drawn made it freaky as shit.
The manhua The Collapse of the World as We Know it by Dashu Jiang is similar in that it's mostly black comedy but there's some horror imagery and concepts that are pretty neat. Also the manga Made in the Abyss is horror lite but beautiful to look at.
If you want horror hentai read Highschool Girl in Concrete, anything by Horihone Saizou,or Brain Eater.

That sounds the right kind of fucked up.

This was a good one actually
If we only had a thread with links to all the best related jap comics...

If youre asking for sequential art that delivers a feeling of dread or fear and the link, Hellblazer's Family Man arc was pretty good. If you're just asking for atmosphere there's a lot more I could recommend.

The Gyo collection has Enigma of Amigara Fault in it, so now I officially own a copy of it.

Which one, I'm stupid and blind

Atmosphere is king, I like darker settings without them being necessarily "ALL IS LOST" or just 2edgy4me.

Are you aware of Mike Mignola's body of work? Anything in his late 80s and beyond is just full of chiaroscuro and superb storytelling. His Bram Stoker's Dracula, Batman: Sanctum, Batman: The Corpse are some really beautiful pieces of comics art.
I have to recommend the Warren magazines work of Alex Toth, Richard Corben, and Bernie Wrightson, reprinted in Dark Horse's Creepy Presents books. Alex Toth's works are a particular joy because of the creativity Toth puts in their presentation. Corben's Warren work has a lot more range in terms of tone, but when he gets into the Gothic stuff he really does it well. In Deep and his adaptation of Poe's poems and stories come to mind. Not Spirits of the Dead though, the art is great but Corben is long past his peak.

I dunno, I'd still read Batman: The Corpse if it was Robin and Nightwing doing a Weekend at Bernie's skit with him. (Also thanks for the suggestions)
