It's a really good book. I highly recommend. Course there's a lot of fluff in there that I would skip. Plus he increases the Jewish elements in the LBRH, so be aware of that.

Ultimately, if you want to get into Western Magic. Start with these rituals:
LBRP
LBRH
Middle Pillar

Then do Opening by Watchtower
And finally Goetic Evocation.

There now you don't even need Kraigs book.

Learn some Hermeticism, Gnosticism, Neoplatonism, for cosmological basis.

Brush up on Greek, Egyptian, and Christian Myth.

Study Qabalah, Alchemy, Astrology, and Numerology.

Magic, Talismans, Meditation, etc.

That's western magic in a bottle.

Try to contact your HGA, Patron Saint, or Chosen Deity.

Get initiated into Masons, HOGD, OTO, etc.

That's the ticket.

Yeah, my understanding is they are mixtures of pagan and Jewish elements cooked up by Mathers. The LBRH is similar but it's pagan Egyptian mostly.
HOGD is syncretic to the max. Has some Christian rosicrucian stuff in there as well.

Kraig is a jew, so he added some Jewish lettering wand movements to the LBRH. He also heavily emphasizes the jewish aspects of Qabalah.

I figure people would like to know all western magic isn't as based in Judaism as one might glean from Kraig.

Watchtower is for Enochian, not Goetia. The relationship between the two was a conflation made by Dr. Rudd, and propagated by Konstantinos. I don't doubt you can get results with it, but standard Goetic evocation would typically utilize the GRH and/or Bornless as an opening.

It's a good book. Especially towards the end of it, which was really what everything else was intended to lead up to. The rest of the book was in preparation for working fully in the astral planes.
