So does anyone want to discuss this game?

This shit is way too boring for its length.
Faggot should have wrapped it up in part two...
Clearly staged. Someone trying real hard to make a video game creepypasta.
>>19053023
>Clearly staged.
nawwwwwww
really?
I think it's pretty damn interesting. even though it is fake as hell the guy is a really good actor, better than most horror movie actors. He could've made a bigger splash if he just released it like an actual game though.
>>19052615
the aesthetics are really nice
>>19053258
this
So first lets get all the "ugh, its fake and gay" comments out of the way. Everyone knows its just an ARG, can't we just discuss it anyway? It's really well made but some people just CANNOT think to play along despite how often this board has edgy roleplaying.
Now, assuming everyone's seen all of them, I got some thoughts about Petscop 9.
I think that Care needs to be deposited into the Child Library and then Paul has to go on the treadmill and walk until the number is zero to change her back to A and capture her, then do it again with a different number for B. But that should be obvious.
I wish we could see Paul look more at DEMO Even Care or maybe input the face in the Windmill with some eyebrows. Maybe the secret to getting Roneth is in DEMO Even Care?
It also seems like the Candace Newmaker thing, while very obviously having SOME kind of connection, was a red herring. Seems this game has just a little more to offer than "oooh, child abuse! spooky!" Unless the game is alive with children's spirits trapped in it or some shit.
....Thought of something just now. What happens when you quit the game in the Quitter's Room?
Game is good but the acting is what kills it for me. Probably would've been better without the voice over.
>>19053319
>What happens when you quit the game in the Quitter's Room?
You quit in the Quitter's Room, you quit in real life.
>>19053319
It looks like they're trying to 'loop' Care from her ruined and abused state back to her previous healthy state before.
Notice how the treadmill goes from 0-16. Ages of young children valid for rape. Then there's -1...
Do you remember being born?
I've got the ISO, give me one reason why I should upload it

because you have nothing better to do.

Make sure you have a psx emulator and bios files

It is getting a bit long winded. Still its a fairly fresh take on the haunted ,cursed etc etc game. Justvas long as they wrap it up soon or involve some different media. He could do something with the website he mentions in eps 1.

Right now the mystery of Windmill is a big essential bit I think allot of people are overlooking, focusing too much on the children and the implication of the statue/tool.
What kind of Windmill vanishes within minutes? How does it cause a person to disappear? Is it actually a Windmill? I feel like maybe the Pin Wheels from the party might be tied into this.
>>19052615
See horror doesn't scare me across any medium, but this shit does and I don't know why, it's like when I was really young and the LSD simulator fucked me up, I wonder what that's about.
I wonder what would happen if Paul goes to Quitter's room
as shadow monster man
I watched it recently because Nightmind did a review on it.
He's like head over heels in love with it but I think the pacing is way too slow.
I think the VA is fine, sounds very much like an average guy just discovering a weird game.
It's just so dragged out that i keep zoning out of watching it so it's not a great one for people with bad ADHD.
I'll probably wait until it's wrapped up and watch it in one go i think i'll do better knowing it's already over and i can truly "take my time"
>>19053332
It would have been much better if it was some random twitch streamer doing the voice amirite?
>>19053023
>what is creepypasta
I enjoyed the first few but found that the pacing was a little too slow. Dude still hasa lot of opportunity to fuck it up though, the "censorship" thing comes to mind. Hopefully they don't go for the "it was just CP all along!" bullshit end or something.
>>19054975
I think it'd get more of a reaction from him if it was CP or gore or something like that.
I think it's info he doesn't want us to know.
I'd bet my life savings this is nightminds pet project.
>>19054182
I feel more spooked when I am the one who's playing instead of watching. Hopefully the guy uploads the exe of that game after he's done with his videos.
>>19053319 Also shit's too clean to be a Playstation 1 game, Wouldn't be much of a mood killer if he said it was a Dreamcast game instead.
anyone look into the windmill and girl's friend disappearing?
>>19052615
the sound that the text messages make is the only thing that is disturbing..
>>19057789
yeah i to know if this references something in the newmaker case
looks like something arcanekids would make
>>19056689
I can tell you the guy has modded the game.
That isn't a stardard-looking game for the PSX gen.
>>19058561
They need to do something similar to this honestly. That sonic game was a good start, but they have the potential to create something truly creepy.
food for thought sony calls devkits for the ps2 and the ps3 'tool' systems. also the ps2 devkits are gigantic
>>19060087
This is supposed to be a playstation 1 game though.
Fake gay boring go next.
>>19052615
>dat startup chime
i cry errtime
>>19052615
Better than 99% of all ARG's and video creepypasta's, the fact that the narrator doesn't try to pass it off as anything haunted with some "oh shit guys I just felt a presence" or some stupid shit like that is what makes it good, it keeps it believable (even though we know it's fake) and as a result more interesting.
>>19060455
you're fake gay and boring
>>19052615
I get that it's just video game creepypasta which is fine. Those can be a lot of fun and still creepy too. But it's annoying that this is trying to be passed off as a Playstation game. Playstation games do not run this well at all. Honestly it really takes away from the experience.
I guess it's fine since the majority of viewers are probably under 15 and have never even played an old PS game. Seriously, go check the subreddit (yes leddit is cancer x d etc.). They all "type like this haha XD" or make maps out with magic marker and wide-ruled notebook paper. I'm sure most of these people haven't even played a PS2 game either. They probably can't even tell the difference between a PS2/PS game
>>19061423
Maybe he's playing on an emulator?
>>19053023
>Clearly staged
Like 99.99% of all paranormal or conspiracy shit that is ever brought to the public's attention.
>>19063851
I don't know why people care about whether it's real or not.
>>19064008
it doesn't bother me that it's fake, but it bothers me how inconsistent the game is with the capabilities of psx hardware. while it is a really autistic gripe, like >>19061423 said, anyone older than 15 would see how little it tried to nail down its setting. there are a lot of games and movies that are pretty meticulous about details that really glue the story into a specific time, but this one really falls flat in that regard
>>19064048
emulator
>>19053319
>Quitter's Room
Forty minutes into the session, Jeane asked Candace "Baby, do you want to be born?" Candace faintly responded "no"; this would ultimately be her last word. To this, Ponder replied, "Quitter, quitter, quitter, quitter! Quit, quit, quit, quit. She's a quitter!".
Not sure it's a red herring.
>>19054907
No.
>>19065652
even an emulator would have the same cpu speed. also emulators aren't perfect. there's no way a random unknown game he found would work flawlessly, let alone BETTER than if it were on real psx hardware
i know it's an autistic point and i did enjoy the series quite a bit regardless
>>19054463
Nightmind also says that the spinoff book makes Night Vale worth listening to.
Just use his videos as a recap of stuff, disregard his opinions as the trash they are.
>>19066188
>>19053319
Also, there's a character named Tiara somewhere in the game. Candace's full name was Candace Tiara Elmore. There's definitely a relation.
I wish he'd just post the rom of the game and let people play it for themselves.
It reminds me of Yume Nikki. I wanna try it out.
The thing about Candance Newmaker is that Petscop is supposed to be made in 1997 and she died several years after that.
So either whoever made this overlooked that very obvious fact
or it was edited afterward to include stuff about Candance
or the person who made it is intimately connected in some way to Candance and knew her before she was well-known/died
OR
this has nothing to do with Candance Newmaker at all
>>19057789
this is one of the only things that has actually creeped me out
if they are actually referencing some real life case about some girl dying at a windmill
idk theres something weird about it
From what I'm seeing so far, it looks like this is going for more timeloop/fate sort of stuff rather than the whole Candice Newmaker thing. Especially after episode 9 with Care NLM's description and that gray room and the demo intro and whatnot.
>>19054110
Some people theorize that the windmill is the South Ockendon windmill, which collapsed in 1977.

>>19060455
>Fake, worthless!
No shit its fake. Its still an interesting story being told in a new medium, through a fake game.
Thats like complaining movies are fake because its all clearly staged. Get over yourselves.
Can it really be called an ARG if it's only a set of videos?
>>19068811
ARG's have weird definitions. There was same debate about Marble Hornets cause people called it an ARG but it was also a series of videos on the web.
I guess an ARG is anything interactive. And both this and Marble Hornets have videos where the audience tries to figure out puzzles using clues.
>>19066743
It's very clearly influenced by her story. It's probably not the main point, though.
>>19069416
I may be wrong, but Petscop isn't interacting with the audience in any way. Calling it an ARG because there are puzzles to solve is like saying any TV crime drama is an ARG. There has to be some degree of the audience directly interacting with the property, ie, solving a puzzle to actually gain access to new information, for it to count as an ARG, I think.
>>19069547
To me it just seems to be an amalgamation of various cases of child abuse.
Not based solely on one.
>>19069553
Check the description of Petscop 5. The audience successfully interacted with the story in that video.
>>19052814
>>19053332
the acting is actually pretty believable.
>>19069553
It's more like a slightly interactive AR story. I'll watch the "explained" videos when it's over.
>>19071737
nah man it aint
so what's the deal with the double MC that mirrors Petscop 2 and 9?
>>19052615
loving it so far
>>19072375
the game mentioned time and being stuck in a loop, yeah?
then it's obvious that he's seeing his future self from ep 9 during ep 2
>>19072375
What are talking about in ep 2 and 9?
