Anon here, gonna keep this brief. I'm on vacation in Myrtle Beach, SC. Shit's excellent, nothing beats gazing out at the horizon while listening to 90s Swans albums.
Anyway, last night I noticed a strange lightshow. Five or six lights were hovering over the ocean for around 20-25 minutes, not moving at all. Each individual light was relatively far in proportion to the other lights. Anyway, when the object finally did move, it disappeared out of the view completely.
I've grown up around airports, so I'm used to air traffic. This shit I saw, on the other hand, was weird. Really fucking weird. What's more, there were these strange flashes of light of what appeared to be heat lightning, but in various hues.
I've never seen anything like it, I'm spooked, and I'm looking for a debunk. After a little research, it turns out the Myrtle Beach is a hotspot for similar activity, which makes the whole affair even more unsettling.
I don't have proof, but I did find a video of a fairly similar occurrence (coincidentally, this was recorded a week or two ago) that depicts the light show I saw, as well as an image that resembles what I saw.

I go to Myrtle all the time, and I have seen the lightning... I had a buddy who also saw it but we are not sure what it was.
