A successful demonstration of how willful ignorance can be used to deflect any logical argument--so successful was the Flat Earth example, that people began perpetuating it in earnest, not realizing that the progenitor of the example did so with satire.

The amount of assumptions necessary to sustain a Flat Earth model is on par with Simulation Theory. It boils down to "everything is so fake, that it's apparently real." Which I guess is whatever.

Stop dragging tesla into your stupid snowflake cult.

Heres the quote in question.

>NIKOLA TESLA: "Earth is a realm, it is not a planet. It is not an object, therefore, it has no edge. Earth would be more easily defined as a system environment. Earth is also a machine, it is a Tesla coil. The sun and moon are powered wirelessly with the electromagnetic field (the Aether). This field also suspends the celestial spheres with electo-magnetic levitation. Electromag levitation disproves gravity because the only force you need to counter is the electromagnetic force, not gravity. The stars are attached to the FIRMAMENT."

Other quotes on his theory (Which specifically believes in a globe earth.)

>This metal, it would seem, has an origin entirely different from that of the rest of the globe.

>It is a well-known fact that the interior portions of the globe are very hot, the temperature rising, as observations show, with the approach to the center at the rate of approximately 1 degree C. for every hundred feet of depth. The difficulties of sinking shafts and placing boilers at depths of, say, twelve thousand feet, corresponding to an increase in temperature of about 120 degrees C., are not insuperable, and we could certainly avail ourselves in this way of the internal heat of the globe.

>By realizing such a plan, we should be enabled to get at any point of the globe a continuous supply of energy, day and night

Hes not talking about a flat earth hes talking about an electrical universe, this is
>>
>>19032032
>The observation of this wonderful phenomenon impressed me strongly that communication at any distance could be easily effected by its means, provided that apparatus could be perfected capable of producing an electric or magnetic change of state, however small, in the terrestrial globe or environing medium.

so flat earth believers are saying that time zones are justified by the fact that the sun emits light on a specific spot, hence day and night. if that's the case, then we should be, at a certain region, to see the sun and not receive any light while some other part of the earth is experiencing day. but it's not the case

if the earth is flat, then the center of gravity of the planet is in the middle. that means that people who move away from the center and drop an object should see the object fall diagonally in a way that it is directed at the center of gravity. but i remember that even aussies drop their objects vertically downward. oh and don't try to tell me gravity doesn't exist. if that's the case, your body wouldn't evolve to resist the pull of earth by developing bones and muscles, the same bones and muscles that degenerate in outer space because gravity doesn't exist.

>you can't tell because it's a fisheye lens

I hate to introduce facts into a flat earth thread, but you can tell a great deal about curvature from fish eye lenses.

If you have a perfectly horizontal line, and it's directly in the middle of the image, it will remain a horizontal line.

If that same horizontal line is below the midpoint, it will bend upwards (into a u-shape), and if it's above the midpoint it will do the opposite. The same thing goes for straight vertical lines in the center, left, or right sides.

In fact, the way fish eye lenses distort the image is so predictable, there is easy to use consumer software where you can just plug in the image, and it corrects everything to a normal field of view.
>>
>>19033944
this
I never really understood the fisheye argument either. In some pics the distortion actually counters the curvature of the horizon. But hey, I guess then it was just cgi =)

Hello again, flarfriends.
I come to you with the same question, again. This time for sure one of you enlightened brainiac truthseekers will find give me a straight answer.

Consider the stars.
In a flat earth model, all the earth sees the same stars, at the same time, since they are fixed on a dome revolving above the surface.
However, the constelations change from one hemisphere to another. Sailors have (had, rather) to use different star charts when they wanted to travel down to africa.
They also change gradually, and the variation in the night sky corresponds with the curvature of the earth.
If you cant explain this, at least try to answer this question: How can the Cape of Good Hope, the Cape of Storms and Australia all see the Southern Cross if the are supposed to be spread out in opposite parts of the flat model?

because of the law of perspective. Your eye sight can only travel so far and convergences at the end point of your sight. Your probably with your argument is that you think you can see infinity far. When you are at the on hemisphere you see a different set of stars. I will give you the Southerner cross for now because I don't know. I am going to have to research to find that one out. Now I raise you another question. Why don't we see different constelations and stars every night if we are a spinning ball shooting through space? Shouldn't we see a different set of stars every night?

You're confusing concepts

>Your probably with your argument is that you think you can see infinity far.
Straw man. Nobody says that.

>I will give you the Southerner cross for now because I don't know.
It's because teh Southern cross and many other constellations are mainly visible in the southern hemisphere, just as the North Star is not visible from most of the Southern hemisphere.

Imagine you're walking back and forth on a a square about 10 feet to a side, while looking at a grove of trees 20 miles away. The trees aren't going to change much from your perspective.

Our motion is very small compared to the scale of the background stars.

It's bending to the right, because it's moving to the left side of the frame. You'll notice it becomes more pronounced the further left it moves.

If you don't want to correct fish eye lens using software, you can do it manually by waiting until the horizon is right in the middle of the frame. In any high altitude shot of the earth, the horizon will be curved as it should be.

>why would elites hide land and resources?
Yes, why?
Throughout history, expansion has been pretty much all that mattered in the big scheme of things.
Its not like Spain and England invested their whole countries colonizing a whole continent to the point where "colonizing" comes from the dude who started it.
Its not like Europe conquered most of Africa for no actual good reason other than land expansion and bragging rights, creating so much tension it sparked two consecutive world wars.
Its not like the US invented the concept of Manifest Destiny to invade the rest of the continent.
Its not like almost all wars have land expansion as one of the main motivations.

Do you really think any country on Earth would not start settlying immediately if any new square meter of terrain was discovered? There are conflicts for Antarctica, actual rocks in the middle of the Pacific, the fucking Moon and soon, Mars.

Please tell me why would any government hide land, and what exactly is stopping you from saving up, getting a plane and go discover it.

After 24 hours, the earth is pointing at essentially the same direction it was the night before.

But yes, after six months, the earth will be pointing in the opposite direction, sidereally, at night.

And you do indeed see different constellations.

No one is actually stopping you from going to antarctica on your own. Its just ridiculously hard.
Free market dictates what routes are availiable, no one is going to make a ferry to go to Antarctica out of charity. And since no one actually wants to go there, since its a literal desert of ice with lethal temperatures and absolutely nothing to see, then there are no routes.

You, yourself, can buy (or rent) a boat and go wherever the hell you want, as long as you have the proper visa. Antarctica doesnt require a visa since its technically not a country. You would need a lot of preparation, money and free time, but you can do it., and lots of people have.
Recently, a relative (grandson?) of Shackleton teamed up with Hyundai to cross the whole thing. In case you didnt knew, Shackleton fucked up his expedition and most of his crew died. Thats why no one goes to Antarctica.

Have some links:
https://travel.state.gov/content/passports/en/country/antarctica.html for an official US government page saying that you actually can travel there.

If that pic is your working model for your theory, i can disprove it right now. See how everything in the Northern Hemisphere is suddenly dwarfed by everything in the Southern Hemisphere? That's what happens when you try to flatten a globe. To correct this, you would have to expand everything in the north while retaining the souths size, or shrink the south to match the norths scale. You could do that, but only if you cut lines into the ocean to segment your map, which foils your theory anyway since Antarcticas coastline would have to be interrupted. This is just one reason your theory and map are wrong, but being a flat Earther I don't expect facts to make much sense to you.

The Mapparium is inaccurate in that the Bridge doesn't feed into the poles.

The poles have the highest average elevation of all continents;

>Antarctica is the highest continent on Earth: average elevation is 8,200ft (2500m

98% of Antarctica is under 1,900m of ice;

>About 98% of Antarctica is covered by ice that averages 1.9 km (1.2 mi; 6,200 ft) in thickness

2500 - 1900 = 600m.

>>19038318

Post-glacial rebound would allow this 600m to rise over time. Both poles are rising at a rate of 13mm/yr, or 1m/77yrs. It would take just 30,000 years for the poles to be the highest points on Earth if you took away the ice. So regardless, the poles have the highest average elevations - because they're the bases of the Bridge.

The Sumerian King list records history going back to about 250,000 years ago, and 26,000YBP humans were making ceramic Venus figurines in Europe. So humans have exhibited behavioral modernity for the time span it would take for the poles to rise 400m.

No, as someone who works with planning & deployment of cellular networks, that's flat-out wrong.
Network-based localization is very iffy due to radio propagation of cellular signals and insufficiently accurate timing.
Even with GPS-synchronization for timing the accuracy is in the 50-100 meter range in high-density areas (even worse in the countryside, where hundreds of meters error is common). Which is far worse than the 3-5 meter accuracy of GPS.

You can use GPS & GLONASS anywhere on earth (as long as you have a clear view of the sky).
The theory behind them is identical as celestial navigation (which only works on a round earth), but they use artificial satellites rather than fixed stars and/or planets.

>Satellites are just made to steal your tax money

Except for all those commercial satellites like BGAN, which I've used in literal buttfuck nowhere in Namibia to send reports to my superiors.
Or the utilization of GPS to map out future site locations in areas with no cellular infrastructure.

The fact that somebody is tracking it means they know it's 200 miles up and moving at 17,0000 mph.

Do you really think that's going to be a drone? How about an object 25,000 miles up and moving at 7,000 mph.

>>19044028

Yeah, it's called tidal locking, and it's very common. The gravity of the planet pulls on the part of the moon closer to the planet then the part of the moon further away from the planet. This creates a torque that works against's the moon's rotation. The rotation (relative to the planet) slowly drops, until one side faces the planet during its entire revolution.

At one point in the past the moon rotated and both sides would have been in view, if anybody had been around to see it. Over billions of years it slowly spun to a "halt"
>>
>>19044045
> what a coincidence.

It's not a coincidence, it's a consequence of gravity. Most moons in the solar system are tidally locked to their planets.

>why we can see stars through the moon

Do you think I am talking about an one time event on a special place?
I talk about daily routine at any give location.
In my line of work, if they were airplane , we would have called them airplanes, because of the 'exclusive ' behavior of those planes. You need to know what you are dealing with in order to efficiently make use of it's properties.
If they were drones, we would call them drones, for the same reasons. And we worked with both also. And when we work with satellites, we call them satellites.
There are a lot of different satellites. Maybe the word itself confuses you.
It simply means in orbit of an other body.
Some built only to take pictures. Most of them are not. And whilst you might think pictures can only be made a camera, this is not correct. In the hospital they can make a picture with soundwaves to see an unborn baby still in the belly. It not fake, it's no conspiracy but an image of this kind looks very different then a photo taken by an optical camera. Still you can see what you aimed to see.
Just because you don't understand how research is done, does not mean there research that they say they do does not real.
Did you ever visited New Sealand, Iceland or Hawaii? Are those fake too? Confidence me they do real.
You see?
If you don't understand satellites, fine. But stop screaming they do not real like a little bitch.
>>
>>19043066
Maybe your kind of people. The problem might be the ability to communicate.
If a fire breaks out and all I can should is "Help" , chances are nobody will come to the rescue with something to fight the fire with.

Just saying conspiracy is pretty lame. First find hard evidence. That's it actually.
There still is no evidence for flat earth and the only things they do come up with proves their level of stupidity and lack of competence for doing research. They mostly think youtube vloggers are a good source for academic research.

If you can truly show who does what in court, your claim will be taken serious. If not , don't take that road and move on.
Flat earthers should not have taken that road. They should have spend that time in actually learning physics and "the art of doing research" . They suck at both big time.
>>
It's entirely impossible for this idea to have any merit. 1st, centripetal force when applied to the flat Earth would literally crush or dislodge anything a near the edge, or Central plains of said flat surface. 2nd the flat Earth would have massive gravitational anomalies caused by the existence of the sun and as such would literally crumble at the proposed distance from the fault earth to the sun. 3rd flat earthers want to revert to a geocentric model on some cases and it's gaining, essentially undoing what we know today as established fact, seriously go outside get a telescope and the proper lighter filters and look at the sun, measure the distance from earth with say the moon based on relative distances , after that simply observe the planetary bodies and watch as they endlessly March around the sun in ellipses seriously this idea that earth is flat is getting to be both repugnant and quite a repulsive topic . thats not how gravity would be distributed if the planet were flat. even if it were you could even it out by increasing the density of the disk as you go toward the edge of the disk.

also there are weirder theories when the planet is really just one dome in a series of domes on a larger surface which would also take care of this gravity argument

Tesla knew the earth was flat!
Also, he was a real scientist. A scientist that actually would've made the world a better place. Unfortunately he got shut down by J.P.Morgan. Such a shame. We would have free electricity by now

No, the center of gravity would still be at the center of mass, in the middle of the disk.

This is why all large objects gravitationally collapse into spheres, unless they're spinning very fast.
