Okay so this is a subject i haven't seen discussed on here, Thomas Pynchon was/is an award winning american avant-garde author most famous for his 1973 book Gravity's Rainbow. We basically know nothing of his life, or even if he is still alive. Before writing he joined the navy as a volunteer and many have read Gravity's Rainbow as a confession of guilt, as the book deals with themes of shady government agencies ,weapons development and mysticism/esoteric knowledge . My question is, did Thomas Pynchon try and reveal some truth hidden by the government, and thus has been targeted?

And the pirate's love of bananas.
It isn't a serious conspiracy-novel-cum-admission-of-guilt; it's a psychedelic mess of post-modern wank that is at times near-incoherent, but nonetheless manages to be both funny and enjoyable: Gravity's Rainbow is a great example of Pynchon's wit and his beautiful prose. I would recommend Mason & Dixon to anyone who enjoyed Gravity's Rainbow.
On the other hand, maybe pic related?

There is truth and comedy in everything he writes. I heard he worked for his dad as a surveyor. My theory is he became a writer partly to avoid physical labor. The smart ones typically don't get their hands dirty.
