That was a thought I had, too. However, I believe there is likely a more convoluted history, as usual. If anything, this suggests a connection to Poseidon and possibly the Pheonicians, and not Yahweh, which some Jews are not happy about. I wonder if in the hidden halls of ancient "Jewish" texts there are histories of the great city. the history of monotheism is pretty well established. Judeo-Christian monotheism comes directly from the Canaanite pantheon. Originally, they worshiped one god, acknowledging the existence of the others but ignoring them otherwise. That evolved into believing "their god" was separate and above other pantheons, which eventually led to "our god is the only god and all other gods are just demons tryna trick ya ass."

Maybe during the great migrations through the bridge of land connecting the slowly separating first continent Pangaea to itself a civilization took root on the bridge itself. Then when the bridge between the proto-european and proto-american continent broke up, the civilization on the land was drowned along with everything about its culture.

There are many tales of mystical cities in the past, maybe there was a certain truth to some of them, and they were lost in time. However our primitive ancestors would not understand(much less know how to describe) such a cataclysmic event. Probably deciding not to acknowledge it and burn it as heresy.

The most likely explanation for Atlantis is, I believe, the same source as the Deluge myths.

A very early "city" was destroyed in a flood; over time, this gets exaggerated in two directions--the divine, retributive flood and the ancient, mysterious city lost to the wilds of the earth.

Another thing to consider (and they talk about it in the podcasts as well) is a lot of these ancient cultures/religions followed the stars. Their monoliths, as well as legends, existed to codify their knowledge of the universal cycles.

If you want to rediscover it, I'd start brushing up on some astronomy.

I remember reading atlantis was actually antarctica and it got covered when a large earthquake caused a giant tidal wave that basically covered it.The tribes in south america said they would trade with a group in the south that was alot different then them.They said saw them in some kind of machine and were good with alchemy.They also have found artifacts thst have writing that isnt traced to any known civilization
