I want you cayucks to gimmie some real evidence against flat earth that isn't explained away after literally ten minutes of looking into flat earth theory.
Example:
Foucault Pendulum.
Something repeatable.

Just call flat earthers lazy and willing to study actual science and move on. You do have a better way of spending time, right?

*unwilling

No, I don't have a better way of spending time. I'm so lonely.

Go to church, spread the word that you found jesus and get married.
Better option?
You know married Christian woman are horney as fuck right?
Your choice ...

The burden of proof is on the flat earthers. There is a ton of evidence of a round earth but it's all photographs, videos, mathematics and first hand accounts of people who have been to space. When given all of this information to a reasonable person they would make the assumption that, according to the general knowledge given to him/her, the earth is indeed round.
However, these people refuse to believe because they cannot see the planet for themselves. It sounds understandable, except the reasonable human, when unable to see something directly, will then look at the next best things. All of the next best things suggest that it's round. Flat Earthers don't care and, because they cannot see the planet, assume that it therefore must be the opposite and already reject all the other evidence. They've already decided on their belief regardless of proof and then cherry pick 'evidence' for their viewpoint.
Point is, there's no use arguing with retards.

wrong.
Round earth is a new theory speaking in terms of history. The burden of proof is on the NEW theory.

>>19010755
I doesn't go by most recent, it's that one has evidence and the other doesn't, thus it's up to the person making the claim lacking evidence to then give evidence, not just reject the other evidence.

You can fly from london to hong kong, hong kong to california, and california to london without once going back the other way
>>19010755
This implies that the belief in a flat Earth that preceded a recognition of a round earth was even a theory.
People have known the world to be round for centuries.
>>19010854
The scientists of ancient Alexandria were actually very close in their estimates of the Earth's circumferance.
>>19010755
2300 years isn't exactly new, you fucking mongoloid.
>>19010997
Heres a graph showing advancement in science. Humans have only been around and estimated 200,000 years. "Society" started roughly 6000 years ago. 2300 years may not be new but those standards but its deffintly outdated. Believing a scientifically unaccepted theory from that long ago is just wrong? Especially since the overwhelming amount of evidence supporting round earth heavily disproves flat earth theory
>>19010563
You are operating on the supposition that "flat earth" is a confirmed fact, when the complete opposite is the case; ergo, the burden of proof lies with you, friendo.
Good luck! You'll need it!

This guy used a Fliphd camera specifically to avoid the extreme fisheye effect that comes from GoPro cameras. Be aware that the curvature it shows is much more in line with what one could expect to observe with the naked eye, and at a height of 121,000 ft., it had achieved a vantage point roughly analogous to what an ant would observe while perched atop a twelve-gauge wire wrapped around a bowling ball.

Flat earth is based around "the law of perspective" and the notion that the sun rise/set is always at eye level. But that's false and more importantly that law is only an actual law in art. A law is something that has a foundation in numbers, which is important because it means you can take those numbers anywhere on earth and regardless of language barrier, they can be understood and directly applied in proper context; which is how we define laws in science. In other words the Las of perspective isnt a fucking law of science it's a law of illustration.
Foucault's Pendulum.
It proves a round and rotating earth.
>>19011468
Foucault was a fraud and he used magnets to distort the pendulum's trajectory.
>>19011486
No he didn't.
Furthermore, Foucault's Pendulums are reproducible. So even if Foucault himself had been dubious, the pendulums still show the rotation of the earth.

The most basic form of an atom is a sphere, it is the perfect shape, there are no edges, only an infinite curve.
Now imagine that as an allegory for space. Space is an infinite form of curvature, because space has no edges.
Simple answer: Earth is round because our atoms are.
>>19011527
Anon, the earth is round because of gravity. It has a large mass, therefore significant gravity. Therefore any significant protuberance will eventually break off and form a landslide, falling towards the center of gravity.
If you don't know these things, please don't try to make them up. It only makes things worse.
>>19011538
You're a fucking retard. All indirect forces are exerted in a spherical fashion. He makes total sense by comparing the forces holding together an atom to the forces holding together large masses in space.
>>19011624
He never even brought up forces.
Furthermore, not all atoms are spherical.
Well, guess it's time to add "flat earth" to my filter.
This is why historians are so god damn important. Historically speaking it's been considered a childish notion and was even often used an incredibly dry and incredibly elitist means to insult others, especially amongst intellectual communities. If I recall, a very good number of surviving references to a flat earth are in books written by scholars seeking to prove flaws in a communities majority thinking, etc; in addition to just straight being subtle if not pompous backhands.
