Anyone willing to share some evocation experiences?

>>
>>18997160
Alright.

How often did it work, how did the entity manifest, and in what form?
>>
>>18997189
I had an entity appear to me during contemplation. I had a name, sigil, and general idea of what type of entity it was (elemental). I went on to evoke it using my scrying mirror (astral evocation, I believe they call it) and was able to see it quite clearly. The first time I evoked it it kind of spoke to me in a gruff, weathered old-man type voice. The next time it was totally silent and showed me things on a sort of tablet of stone that it was carrying. Visions that I have yet to decipher. I didn't really make any requests because I was, and still am, trying to figure out what it wanted with me. I say 'it' because it looked like a man to me, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything with non-corporeal entities.

Gematria and other Qabalistic means of investigation have helped me tremendously in deciphering the messages and visions, but I'm still only part way there.

Doing ritual outdoors has been my thing recently. Hiking to a spot, starting a fire, and doing whatever rite I need to do. Mainly as part of an attempt to recover my health, but it has a very different feel than indoors, and I quite enjoy it. Also dat Jugorum.

I've also been practicing basic rituals - like LBRP, middle pillar, Liber Resh, etc.
>>

Good! Glad to hear it. I would strongly recommend Liber Jugorum, as well. A lot of people say substitute a rubber band around the wrist for a razor, but I found when I switched to the razor it only took me about two days to completely exclude a given word from my vocabulary for the pre-determined amount of time. But everyone is different, and the razor can make you look emo. My girlfriend freaked out, but it's just another means of instilling a sort of yogic discipline.
>>
>>18997531
I would honestly not use ceremonial for suck a trivial thing. A sigil should help, if you *really* feel the need. Eventually you're gonna need to be able to buy a black egg without haggling, though.

Animal spirits like shit. Crow life lol. Basics- LBRP, regular sitting meditation, Resh. Specific workings that correspond with the moon cycle. Solo shit. Trying to reengage with the practice of keeping an actually cohesive, well-thought out magickal record. I fell off hard on that back in January, after doing quite well at it for years.

hey ape i got a question, i came to discover A Compendium of Occult Laws by Clymer, the owner presented it to me as if it contained a fuckload of knowledge for me to handle (mainly because of our age gap) so i got in on pdf and i read about a third of it but i put it down since because most of the time it just feels like you're being told the basics of attraction and will over and over, i actually felt frustrated at certain point.
Is there something i'm missing? I know the book is divided in sections, so does it get worth reading at some point? I was reading Book 4 by Crowley at the time and i felt more inclined to Crowley's ideas, is there anything in Clymer's that i won't find in Book 4?
>>
>>18998068
Nah, fuck Clymer.

I have a bias in favor of Crowley. There are a lot of respectable commentators out there, and most better than Clymer.
>>
Can we add or reccomend stuff to be added to the mega?

>>18997253
How does one actually divine from Gematria? I guess the more prudent question may be, what are the actual steps you take?
>>
>>18998086
I mean, I don't use it in and of itself for divination, but knowing the correspondences, the symbolism of the various numbers, and also utilizing notariqon and temurah in their various forms all help in pinning down abstracts.
>>
>>18998086
In "777 and other Qabalistic Writings" the essay "Gematria" should be very useful for learning this.

>>
>>18998871
It's okay Anon, I'm learning with you.

>What kind of things must one have mastered before undergoing the Abramelin Operation?

It's a series of instructions to, essentially, purify you, to make you ready for the spirits and to accomplish some tasks. It takes several months. It also involves sigils, squares, evocation, and preparation of some incenses/oils.

Just read it in the mega and know that you're in for a lengthy process. However, I've heard that this process yields great results.
>>
>>18998911
Ok...I understand the aspects of the Operation itself, I'm just wondering what the prerequisties are (i.e. a certain level of attainment, occult accomplishments, etc.) because obviously you can't just come in off the street and successfully perform Abramelin.
>>

Gathering ingredients and crafting
>Hebrew

>wood-crafting/house-building

>know your angels
>know your demons
>fasting
>Holy book(s)/scripture

Etc, etc, etc. Just read the necessary book(s) in the mega.

Well, I know it's covered by israel regardie in "the tree of life" in the beginners folder. It's also good if you're wanting to get into hermeticism. Plus, you can read and follow the grimoire. Sooo, yeah - it's "beginner-ish". You have to know a lot prior; but if you want to chat with your guardian angel - there are more ways than this.

Kinda like what

I'll Have to check it out. I like Regardie, he just dickrides that psych model SO hard. I'm asking because K&C of HGA is considered attainment of some sort or other of Adeptship, in most traditions. I read about a guy who 'claimed' he had been practicing for 15 years, but wasn't an initiate, and had disappointing results with the Abramelin Op.

Palo do me a big ol' giant favor and NEVER apologize for disagreeing with me. I'm NOT above being wrong, often, despite what certain shitposters may imply.

Discourse is how we hone our feelpinions to a razor's edge. FWIW I don't disagree with your premise, just the extension thereto. I was also fairly serious about the bit with your/my/our standards. I've been in a top anth department long enough to see that folks simply operate on different levels of native ethnographic talent and method, but that's sorta beside the point.

>just stop.

Nice were-jaguar.

So... I started reading In Secrecy...etc.
I see where you get the idea that Quimbanda is more Carib influenced than African influenced.

And they cross up Zarabanda and Lucero.
Lucero/Exu, Zarabanda/Ogum.
But, they have it Exu/Zarabanda, Lucero/Ogum.

They have Ogum as more passive than Exu which makes 0 sense to me because I'm coming from the African origin perspective instead of the Carib heavy perspective.

Ogum/Gu/Ogun/Oggoun/Zarabanda is always god of war and iron and owner of the knife in West and Central Africa.
In fact, one of his names "Gu" means Iron in one of the Central African languages.
(Maybe Bantu, can't remember.)

I'm not sure how they got crossed up unless it was through transition to the different culture and they syncretized with their pre-existing gods and got things crossed up.

Quimbanda seems simplified in a way - simple basic cosmology with a lesser number of mpungo.

But when you get to the Caminos they go bug nuts insane on the sheer volume of paths.

So, I said all that to get to the nagging Kamaina/Itoto question that's been bugging me since halfway through Beyond the Visible and the Material.
Grave honey?
Just some superstition/rural legend?
>>

Respect the plants folks. This stuff grows around here and even simply breathing near this thing runs you the risk of inhaling neurotoxins, it has no antidote, and it looks like a wild carrot.

I have to assume you mean in a dried form? Otherwise, how are you not fucked up right now?

I know you know your stuff, but for the purposes of those listening in, dried hemlock is a much different animal than living hemlock. The toxicity drops considerably in dried material, but still remains and can be toxic. LIVE hemlock is much more virulentt, the alkaloid toxins present can be aerosolized or become airborne in certain parts of the plant and inhaled, and every part of the plant is highly toxic when ingested fresh.
>>
How would one even get started with a plant based practice? I understand that plants have "spirits" that can be manipulated for various effects but how can that be done ritually? As far as I can tell the only way to "do" plant magick is to make tinctures and potions and shit

youre sure were talking about the same plant here?
Conium maculatum (poison hemlock)contains neurotoxins which even through skin contact can cause respiratory failure and death
Cicuta maculatum (water hemlock) contains a cicutoxin which causes siezures.
Oenanthe crocata (water dropwort)contains oenanthotoxine which is similar to strychnine in effect.

None of these are to be confused with Hemlock (Tsuga sieboldi) which is a tree.

Everything Ive ever been told about these by other practitioners or even the department of agriculture or health department maintain that they shouldnt even be touched without gloves because of the risk of exposure to the toxins. How are you not like.... dead?

>water hemlock harvesting tips

Well that's interesting, one of the reasons I'm always so shy around the mountain hemlock around here is the supposed properties that parts of the plant can be airborne if disturbed and you can theoretically get exposure just by inhaling it. I wonder if water hemlock lacks the same thing, or just by virtue of being more wet it isn't as much of a threat?

Good to know thank you for your practical experience, maybe I should actually try to harvest some of our hemlock. Still sketchy about it....

As I understand it that seems to work with the caput/caudis switch and that weird thing from the Golden Dawn about solar eclipses being "inversions"

Would it help to compare with other eclipse rituals from other traditions? I'm sure every esoteric school has their own version of an eclipse ritual, although I'm sure most of them are still hidden. I'm probably not being much help because I'm still pretty new to the "Dialectic" (for lack of a better term) between the Star and the Stone

Your advice about not going big fuckin' machete and panting like an idiot is probably most of the reason they warn against it, I occasionally credit the general population with a little too much common sense but im sure some jackass has gone to town on it with a weedwhacker and shockingly had a really bad time.

It's all good.
At some level this will be an elaboration on the IA and KU praxes.

But I NEED to figure out a way to increase or decrease my points of veneration to either six or below fourteen.

I'm wondering if I can get away with ten.

Shit. With select tensors I can get fourteen points of veneration exactly.

SUMMONING UNTO THE RITE OF THE FALLEN STONE:

Oh mothers, oh fathers, before you I lay,
I’ve wandered Exiled one year and a day,
Returned to the field of bone, blood, and grain,
Returned to the spot where my Brother was slain,
And unto the hill where his Dolmen was raised.
His fat on the fire while thy names I praised.

Oh hear me, now fear me, the golem you wrought,
Honed by perpetually tilling this plot,
Trained in the arts of enchantment of thought,
Tempered in blood, from the forge I was dropped,
Like your prey, like a fly in your web I was caught,
Endlessly tracing the beauty I sought,

Within and beyond, without and between,
The myriads of spheres and the songs that they sing,
The letters, and sigils, the hems and the seams,
The glimpses, the tastes, in the fevers of dream,
The tail and the teeth; the column and beam,
The fable, the myth, the theory, the theme.

Hearken all ye Masters who wrested the prize,
Three times, gnosis snatched, from the Dragon’s cold eyes,

Hearken all ye Faithful who flew from the snare,
The noose on the path, from the Dragon’s bold stare,

Hearken all ye Blooded who gather this peak,
Who whisper the chants, from the Dragon’s told beak,

Hearken all ye Shades, cast forth from within,
Who feast on the shedding of the Dragon’s shed skin,

Summoned art thou, to the foundation stones
The very grave of the sun
And the mysterium of Zha.

Talk to freaking trees.

Go up and touch stuff.
Try to "Feel" it's life or it's energy.
Meditate on the life within the plant or animal or rock or whatever.
I'm not saying chain yourself to the tree so they don't cut it down.
Death happens.
I'm saying tune yourself in to the energy around you.
Even if you don't manipulate it, at least learn to consider and/or respect it.

I talk to my dogs like they're little people and treat them with respect.
And guess what.. they follow me and guard the fuck out of me.
I can't even go to the bathroom without them sitting near the door watching anyone that comes within 5 feet or so.
That's not to say I'm NOT the boss.

Quick question, what's the point/benefit of doing invoking rites in the morning? I tried searching for an answer and all I got was a thelemite forum of some kind where the answers basically boiled down to "try it yourself and decide" (which is fair enough I suppose), and someone else saying not to do it unless you've done daily banishing for 2+ months

>where in Ebony Anpu's system there are 14 points of anything

there aren't really, ape was trying to adapt an 14 point veneration system for his jawn presumably because of the sevenfold geometry of the two dimensional DBoE ritual year, plus the interstitial phases. Although he is free to correct me on that if I am wrong, it is kind of a guess.

A Tesseract has 16 vertices which means any "veneration points" would have to have 16 correspondences to fit into that system of geometry. I'm sort of confused about why Ape doesn't just adapt the 11 fold system of DBoE veneration in the Hallowing of the kingdom of Qayin which has its own 11 fold geometry, and then double it making two pyramids which could be "unfolded" into the hypercube through the traditional set of 22 correspondences that Ebony Anpu developed, perhaps you could mediate by using the alphabetical system of Azoetia making an "aright" and "inverse" pyramid, although I'm not actually sure there are 11 letters in that magical Alphabet now that I think about it. I do think it is significant that there are the same number of vertices as mothers and fathers of Wytchblood, but I am not super familiar with them so I can't begin to guess what ape is doing to make that work

I really think this could be done but I'd like to talk to someone more Adept than me before I ever tried it. Perhaps the two Pyramids could correspond to the 333 and 444 formulations already present in Azoetia. Any real attempt at working this geometry into the Tesseract would have to work with the 0=2 formulation because as Ebony Anpu says anything else would end in disaster.

>Qayin lore is massive.
Qayin was a first generation Nephilim before he took the cow's jaw to Hevel's throat when G*d rejected his bridal offering for the hand of Calmena.

If we follow the most traditional interpretations of the Midrash, Lilith was his mother. Lilith was also his Initiatrix. The coupling of Qayin and Lilith brought about a myriad of myriads of demons. Lilith later went on to scrog the shit out of Solomon to produce Asmodeus.

After the flood to wipe out the poison of Qayin's bloodline, Qayinan (a child of Moses) found a tablet inscribed with the wisdom of the Elioud/Nephilim as preserved by the astrological and herbal magicks of Shemyaza, reintroducing the Fires of Wytchblood into the Mortal Domains.

G*d's been slowly choking us to death ever since.

Part of the whole Marriage Vessel shit is to fulfill your obligation to not bring more mortal spawn into the world by shunting off the energies therefrom into the astral residuum for egregores/homunculi/whatever. This isn't anti-G*d, it's saying "Alright nigger, you know what, fine, fuck it. I'm a chalice overflowing with the filth of abomination. You've got a five thousand year grudge match in wiping us out; I'll snuff my line, but you can NOT prevent me from Regency in the Infernal Abodes" and shockingly G*d's pretty ok with this arrangement.

He had a couple books left in him at this point in his life.

The next couple chapters go on to explain that it was only after he rolled into town that the "owner" of the cave showed a local the vessel to get the village in a tizzy.

It was an open secret what he was studying, and after he touched the vessel everyone in the whole region was all like "Hey, keep my name out of your fucking mouth, gringo faggot."

Is a good book tho.

From my experience. no you don't have to be officially scratched in.
If you have the dedication and tenacity to do your research and sift through the info from different sources you can work with the Mpungo and Eggungun with little trouble.
Essentially Animism, Spiritism, and Ancestor Worship.
Learning the mythology is the easy part.
Learning the Caminos, the dances, and the songs are the hard part.
Also, acquiring some of the tools.
It really requires a certain level of dedication to spend a long time finding good sources, good reading material, etc.
A lot of times also, I go with my gut instinct on what I'm being "told" the Mpungo and spirits actually want me to do and I have no issues.

Belated birthday presents.
I also got the usual clothing in the wrong size, jewelry I'll never wear because it's gold.
But, I also got some semi-precious beads and a new storage case and two books on graphic design in the first half of the twentieth century, a vogue 1920's illustration book and an architecture of the world illustration book.
The good gifts were from my adopted sister.
She doesn't fully understand, but she doesn't ask questions either.
She just thinks it's an "International" type of aesthetic thing and she's not curious enough to ask questions.

Concerning Abramelin's magic squares:

Why is there such a disparity between the French and German manuscripts of this work? Some of the squares are incompletely filled in in the French version, and some of the squares (and their functions) are switched around as well?

Let's say that Mathers came across a faulty and erroneous manuscript; apparently Mathers brought a wrong version of this magic to the English-speaking world, and nobody noticed for over a hundred years. How can you possibly believe magic is real when shit like this happens?

Hey I dont like, or dislike the idea, I just said I think its likely to give you mercury poisoning.

My biggest concern was with how you sealed the thing. Drilling it getting quicksilver in it, and waxing over the top are not the problems, I think most people could do that pretty safely. The problem comes when the thing is in your pocket on a warm day, the wax melts and you get a legfull of warm liquid mercury soaking into your skin.

If you can find a better way to seal it I dont see any inherent problem in this.

Ill see if I can find you some buckeye, I thought i had some but upon checking the shelf, it appears Im out. Honestly any hard shiny nut will generally sub for a buckeye, its the same principle entirely.

>>19007588
>A lot of times also, I go with my gut instinct on what I'm being "told" the Mpungo and spirits actually want me to do and I have no issues.
Im of the opinion that this is actually the "proper" route for those with the interest, stomach and tenacity. I believe the initiatory practices of scratching, lave tet, and other diasporic traditions are more for the congregation to come to a spiritual awakening.

If youre already talking to skulls in closets, the 'initiation' is a bit wasted.

If they aren't too goopy, cut and press to dry or cut, bundle, and hang to dry.

At least you can then grind them into powders or use the dried plants for whatever you're working.

And, if they are the type like Dandelion that are good as teas for various ailments you can chop them up or break them up with your fingers and brew them in your coffee pot.

I used to drink double brewed Dadelion leaf cut, Kava Kava, and Pennyroyal every night before bed around 14 - 15 years ago.

>Kanaima as
It's a lot of things.
In some sense it's an ancient initiatory system.
In some sense it's a space which allows sociopathy to exist without plunging precomplex cultures into utter destruction.
In some sense it's a response to colonial violence.

It's interesting, up in the delta of the Orinoco among the Warao the assault shamen aren't even the most feared/socially powerful practitioners. An Hobeo can beat and rape your husband to death or make your sister have a heart attack from three rivers away, but the WEATHER shamen control if the fruit harvest will stabilize or not.

So there is this girl that I've been talking to who recently opened up about a fear she has. It's her own home. I've been to anon's house a few times and I get a really shitty vibe when im over there. Ive spent the night a couple of times, and always feel like im being watched. She told me there is some type of Demon in her home. I of course laughed it off, but as she said it I started feeling a pressure in my chest and needed to lie down. She then says, "Oh, the little ones are around you."

>Little ones
>What the fuck

I ask what she means, and she says they're tiny orbs of light of differing color, and I still feeling shitty, ignored her. She then took out her phone and snap chatted a corner in her room, and after playing back the video there were 4 "orbs" in the corner, I don't remember what colors

She said theyres some type of Demon living in her house. She said she only sees it when she's high, and that it looks like Carnage, pic related. At that point, I was literally about to walk out and never talk to this bitch again. As I got up off the bead, a small canvas like painting of Jack skellington that was no bigger that a foot by a foot fucking flew off the wall and I almost shit my pants

I know you will think it's b8, but I don't know what to do and I sure as fuck don't want to go back to that God damn house.

oh ok I misunderstood

Also just doing a bit of research, I saw that you can get a damn basketfull of buckeyes for next to nothing through ebay or etsy, theyre like .30 cents a piece, thats barely even worth mailing.

Make sure to look for best price using the other common name of horse chestnut.

What is some good prerequisite reading for the Book of Thoth? Or can I just jump right into it?
>>
>>19011010
You should be able to jump right into it. It's all about the Tarot.

However, 777 is a great companion reader.

How to find a non cringey occult community?
I've been trying going to meditation and magick meetups but they seem to be infested with gullible new age types. The last one I went to had a guy who claimed to channel beings from the pleiades, and no one batted an eye. I need a place where I can get away from that "anything goes" mindset.

Extremely unlikely to happen. The only people likely to let randos like you join in on their reindeer games are either Predatory or Cringe. One of the main reasons a great many serious workers take up the path of the hermit is because of this.

Sigh... I guess that's what I should do. The more occult/spiritual facebook groups I join, the more disgusted I get.

Elucidate me on the Astral, what exactly is it? A real plane or just your own mind?

Also, if a spirit seems to be following me and I didn't ask it to, is it a guardian?

And finally, can sigils be used to stop psychic leaking? I feel like since I started studying occult, it's like my mind leaks out thoughts. Call it synchronicity but it's a bit more than that. Are sigils the way to stop it?
>>
How do I get started with sigils?
>>
>>19013157
>A real plane or just your own mind?
I'm not sure why these should be mutually exclusive.

>following me and I didn't ask it to, is it a guardian?
FUCK NO...at least, maybe not; banish, ward, abjure, etc.

>sigils the way to stop it?
It'd probably make it worse.

Agrippa
Austin Osman Spare
THEN read the chaos materials.

>I'm not sure why these should be mutually exclusive.

Very much this. That said, I tend to think of my mind as the "local" astral, much like a garden in the woods, or a pool in the sea. No illusions of separation necessarily implied, tho.

Who is aggripa?

Henry Cornelius Agrippa

For the whole 'leaking' thing, be sure to banish properly and persistently. Maybe try the Rose Cross Rite

What's the difference in effect between chaos magic and ritual magic?
>>
>>19014207
Chaos utilizes Ritual, too. Ritual is just an aspect of Chaos, like it is with most other traditions.

This a good guide?

>>
>>19014207
Chaos magick refers to the structure, or lack thereof, around the magical workings. Many systems use ritual magic. "chaos magic" is like framework of understanding.

You could reach out to one of various different lodges and ask about initiation. You're going to have to wade thru bullshit there, as well, but you should be able to find some more serious folks.

Pretty much. Just remember to vibrate the divine names. Also their drawings are kinda shitty. This link will give you some additional visualizations:

Yes
>>
>>19015071
Do you vibrate the word as one or do you do the letters individually?
