Yesterday we got conformation that Cicada 3301 is still waiting for us to solve Liber Primus book.

Message was coincidentally found on pastebin after some solver was looking for PGP signed messages.

Message was signed on April 4th 2017, PGP signature is verified.

Nobody knows.

Pic related is how puzzle started in 2012

Nobody publicly claims he was invited in organization. Group of winners in 2012 did say that they were working on whistleblowers platform named CAKES, but they claim that dev team was later disbanded.

so u are saying it could be some edgy teens who made this shit up.

This whole project seems to me like a Freemason / secret society thing....I wouldn't want to get involved. Anyone have any reason to think that you should trust those running it? If you're really smart, keep it to yourself....and use your intelligence on something of importance when the time is right....getting involved in this is a gamble at best.

Not exactly couple of edgy teens. CAKES group said that Cicada 3301 infrastructure the got access to in 2012 was very resourceful.
And in 2012 and 2013 during puzzle they managed to post posters with QR codes/phone numbers all around the world.

In case you encounter people who try to convince you that PGP is dead, broken, not used anymore or owned by CIA... know that you have been trolled

Thread carefully.

Cicada is about encryption and privacy. Dont worry, along the way you will learn why PGP still works just as fine as it did 40 years ago in 1977 when RSA paper was published.
>>
>>18952596
Pgp, broken?

Anyone who really looks for info about pgp knows that isn't broken.
Just look for the cia hacktools, they didn't have any for pgp!
Gov's don't use pgp because they can't trust in a unbreakable protocol, as contradictory as it sounds.

People who are making fake puzzles. An there are many of them. All have in common that they cant produce PGP signed messages with cicadas PGP key.

They try to present all sorts of reasons to their players why they arent using PGP anymore. That picture just shows some of excuses. We heard even more ridiculous ones.

Someone even uploaded public key that looks almost identical to Cicada 3301 key. Short fingerprint id, name and description are all the same. Difference is only in long fingerprint id.
https://pgp.mit.edu/pks/lookup?search=0x7A35090F&op=index

Both keys have same short 4 byte (8 hex characters) key id 0x7A35090F, and same name and description. They look identical for inexperienced user.

It you look at each key you notice that long 8 byte (16 hex characters):

0x181F01E57A35090F https://pgp.mit.edu/pks/lookup?op=get&search=0x181F01E57A35090F

7 / 7 = 7. 3301

this tells me that something about the cypher scheme entails 1 actually being a constant for either 7 or the digits (3301)* in every associated computation.

Those keys were created at the same time in 2012 so are likely done by the same entity. The interesting bit is the 'alternate' key was only self signed recently, 5 years after it was created.

7/7 = 7 days a week?
>>
>>18954584
7 / 7 = ?
means:
> What is 7th number in /7 digital root or nature of numbers pattern?

Digital root or nature of numbers is n mod 9 or you can calculate it if you add all digits together.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_root

Dr of 7771 = 7+7+7+1 = 22 = 2+2 = 4

/7 digital root pattern is
Dr(1/7) Dr(2/7) Dr(3/7) Dr(4/7) Dr(5/7) Dr(6/7) Dr(7/7) Dr(8/7) Dr(9/7)

When you calculate digital root of those ratios and consider all special rules from >>18953332 for full reptend primes and cyclic numbers
http://mathworld.wolfram.com/FullReptendPrime.html
http://mathworld.wolfram.com/CyclicNumber.html

Then /7 pattern is 9 4 8 3 7 2 6 1 5
On 7th place you have 6

thus 7 / 7 = 6

If you studd all those division /x and multiplication *x patterns you notice few interesting things. Some numbers create multiplication patterns that are same as division pattern of some numbers. And Full reptend primes that create decimals with never ending cyclic numbers cause last number from pastern to jump to first place.

246813579 [Pattern of *2 AND /5] same as [*7 AND /4] reverse if we move 9
753186429 [Pattern of *7 AND /4] same as [*2 AND /5] reverse if we move 9

516273849 [Pattern of *5 AND /2] same as [*4 AND /16] reverse if we move 9
483726159 [Pattern of *4 AND /16] same as [*5 AND /2] reverse if we move 9

123456789 [Pattern for *1 and /1] same as [*8 and /8] reverse if we move 9
876543219 [Pattern for *8 and /8] same as [*1 and /1] reverse if we move 9

951627384 [Pattern of /47] same as [*4 and /16] reverse
948372615 [Pattern of /7 and /61] same as [*5 and /2] reverse or same as 483726159 [Pattern of *4 AND /16] with 9 moved to front

If we move 9 to the back [516273849 /47] Dr47=2 is reverse of [948372615 /7 and /61] Dr61=7

If you are interested in this you can find more about it in vedic and vortex math if you google around, and this prof Kardi did some fork on this patterns field: http://people.revoledu.com/kardi/tutorial/DigitSum/Arithmetic.html
But all this so far didnt help us solve single word from Liber Primus despite guy who was talking about this theory claimed he solved whole Liber Primus. But he was not allowed to share solution. Apparently this is the rule. But he was also not able to provide single proof that he solved anything. He was no different than all other scammers, he juts knew some interesting math.

There are few more helpful files in same github.

This are runes translated to English latin letters: https://titanpad.com/vFCy7T5p0O

Pic related is Gematria Primus. Cicada 3301 provided it to us in 2013. Each tune has English latin letter representation as standard, and assigned prime value.

May sentences from cicada add to prime value if you add together prime values of all runes.

It's false. There is nothing new on their official twitter.
>>
ok, so, noticed something weird looking at liber primus.
not sure how relevant this is.

there are patterns in the length, start, and end of the sections.

starting page numbering from 0
grouping pages with the same bordering as sections
referring to pages3&4 as section1 as page1 is not in chapter1
not including pages5,73,&74 in any section as they stand separate.

sections 3,5,7 and 9 end on prime pages
sections 1, 2, 4, and 10 end on squares with one prime factor
sections 6, 8, and 11 end on pages of the form n*(n+10)
no section starts or ends on a page with more than two prime factors.
all sections except 10 have page counts that are prime or powers of 2.

This was from the 2013 puzzle and actually was a hint to listen to ping responses for extraneous data.

This is interesting.
Pic related: GPG4win in command prompt shows WARNING if you insert sentence in header of PGP signed message.

Defango was deliberately ignorant in his stream, when he used message with inserted "You are all fagots. Defango is the king.", in header, as some sort of proof that Cicadas 3301 April pastebin message might not be legit.

Also if you are playing with command prompt executable in GPG4win, command is gpg2.exe --help

And here I thought rune reading was more magickal than solving things.
Like a baby alphabet.

Could still be a very small group though.
Just like the Rosicrucians in the early 1600s; the best way to start a movement is to make it seem like it has already begun.

English Mason here. I'm more interested in some of the ancient appendant Masonic orders than I am in Cicada 3301 though.

bump

we need help from some old school cryptographers

liber primus looks like problem that can be solved with pure logic and math based encryption, not so much with coding and brute forcing

I have tried to find out where this message originated but can't find the source.

Can you point to the source? (Looks like the result of an outguessed image, which image is it?)

Was this PGP verified to be real or fake? Even if fake, still interested for curiosity.
