Is Sasquatch a hominid?
Probably.
Certainly if we're to assume they're descendants of Gigantopithecus(spelling?).
Sasquatch has already been found. Shaquille O' Neal.
I wanna smoke dope with Sasquatch. He probably grows the good shit himself in the woods.
I think he's probably something else
The definition of "hominid" has been expanded in my lifetime to include all higher primates, including gorillas, great apes, chimps, gibbons, and all members of the Homo genus. Unless they're not primates at all, Sasquatch have to be in this family.
I think what you're asking about is the closest taxonomic grouping we share with them. Assuming they're descended from great apes, probably Homininae, which is a subgroup of hominids.

He's a nature spirit, one that embodies something mankind has lost - harmonious existence with nature.

Gigantopithecus is an Asiatic species, not a North American one. Also, no Sasquatch testimony has ever described the creature as reddish-brown ; yet, that would certainly be the case if it was a Gigantopithecus relative, as this colour seems to be distinctive of pongines.
Given the Sasquatch's New World distribution, and the fact that some Homo species are known to use rafts for going to sea (H. erectus, for example), it would not be surprising that the beast is actually a relict Hominina (as suggested for the related Almas), with its hairiness being a derived trait which owes its origin to the harsh North American climate.

Not certainly but he is a primate at least.

they came across the bering land bridge, following the mongoloids. i believe thats why there are giants seen in alaska, 10-18 feet tall

Native Americans are descended from Asians, as they crossed the Behring land bridge. No reason Sasquatch or their ancestors couldn't have done the same. Sasquatch-like creatures are reported all over the world. Even Austria has a version: the Yowie. Sasquatch populations in North America could be fairly recent, and not much older than human presence here. If they are large bipedal hominids capable of traveling great distances, there's no reason their spread across the American continent should have been less rapid than human migration.

"Austria" should have been "Australia"

Sasquatch is homosexual, like you OP.
