I read the entire Qu'ran from 12-14. My father wanted me to.

Islam makes a lot of bold assertions that are just too good to be true. They say that all of the prophets were Muslims, that the other two Abrahamic religions were corrupted, and that Jesus was a Muslim. This is pretty silly.

The Qu'ran is also the "literal" word of God. I don't care if other religious texts have mistakes in them--they aren't claiming to be the infallible word of God. The Bible is composed of several different texts of different genres, written by different authors. It doesn't need to be "perfect," whereas the Qu'ran can't say it isn't perfect(being the literal word of God). The Qu'ran has plenty of historical and scientific errors.

The Qu'ran is very violent. At 12, I had trouble believing that my friends who were "infidels" deserved to be put to death. I looked at Islamic apologetics and it was mostly just cop outs. Islam is anti-intellectual and probably the worst religion to follow unless you're looking to kill people.

I began following Christianity and now I'm looking into Buddhism.

But also think about heaven. Why would we want to be in a place where all of our needs don't exist and everyone is on equal standing? What would you do? Art wouldn't exist, as there would be nothing to make art about if we are in eternal bliss. Play volleyball in the clouds? There'd be no competition, it'd never hit the san-- I mean clouds. I've died before OP I can confirm there is an afterlife. I don't know a lot about every religion but I can say that none of the ones I know of is close enough to real.

One thing I will say is the recent episode of American Dad, at the end when the fat kid dies and comes back he says that the after life is nothing except the sensation of consciousness. This is the most accurate thing I've heard.
