I saw excerpts from the ring accidentally when I was 6

When I was a kid I went to the Wisconsin Dells. One of the lifeguards on duty had neglected to pay attention to my age and I ended up going down one of the largest water slides in the park. Between the rocking and spinning of the tubes I found myself panicked and unable to reorient myself by the time I hit the water. I blacked out after that, but apparently my half-brother had come to save me from drowning. Ever since, whenever I return to the Wisconsin Dells, something bad happens to me.
The first time I returned to the Dells it was during summer camp. The entire troop had gone on a picnic and I had joined them. When we entered the park a homeless man was laid out on one of the picnic tables. He didn't respond to any of our voices or action, we ate lunch in the same gazebo as that homeless man. An ambulance came half an hour later and we never did find out what happened to him.
The next time my little brother had won a contest for a day at one of the waterparks. Despite my initial refusal, my parents talked me into coming. I had a fine day for the most part, until I saw the surfing machine. I'd been born and raised in the Wisconsin and Minnesota area so this likely to be the only chance at surfing I'd ever get, so I waited in line. I waited, and waited, until finally it was my turn. I was so happy, I was so excited that I just climbed onto the board. I slipped headfirst into the machine, the board flying backwards and my nose breaking against the hard plastic.
The next time I returned was under similar circumstances. I thought I was prepared that time. I'd stay in the lazy river and wavepool, just take my time and relax. At one point I got separated from my family, but I didn't worry. If I ever got lost I'd return to the car, like my father told me. So I did. My family spent hours looking for me, and when my mother finally found me, my father was furious. He yelled his head off and struck me repeatedly for running off.
I'm 22 now, and I never returned to the Dells.

It floated to the top. Kek. Finding out there was no Santa Claus when I was 7. My parents built up the myth a lot. I was convinced he was the real deal. I found my main present under some clothes in my parents closet a month before. Getting something for one of them, ironically. It was what I wanted, and I felt guilty for finding it, and excited. But when I received it Christmas morning, all wrapped, it was marked "from Santa". It was a bit like being filled with happiness and excitement and then being pushed off of a cliff a moment later. I was 7. I can't remember a bigger loss of faith, honestly.
