Was this the first creepypasta? What are your thoughts on it in general? I know it scared the shit out of me.
Great story up until the end. The finale was boring and disappointing.

I wouldn't really class it as a creepypasta, it's more like a predecessor and there were definitely horror stories being written online back in the 90's so I doubt it's the first, just the earliest widely known one

The concept is that it's a true story though, he focuses on the affect that the events had on him afterwards so you can't expect it to climax with a big monster showing up or anything like that

There's older pastas out there, but on the Internet they were just called campfire tales/urban legends back then.

What an idiotic statement. If not for that ending, we wouldn't be talking about it today. Think for a minute before you spout horseshit.

The photos were obviously fake.
The hole was always the same size, he just zoomed in on it to make it appear bigger.
Kind of ruined it for me.
the real dude later confirmed on a forum that it was only the part where he listens the screams and gets in the room with the camera were fake. He was doing some work in a cave near a highway with a friend I think, and got bored so he took pictures of the cave and got the idea to make a horror/thriller story about it. There was a b-movie made about this.
