>Park truck by a gate with a steep massive hill on one side
> Dad is getting my little brothers setup
>I look at the top of the hill and see a pitch black silhouette about 3 or 4 feet tall with one hand resting on a tree.

I have one
>be me, around 12 to 13yrs old
>school sends us on a fieldtrip to a camp to see if we'd like to go there for summer
>arrive at camp
>guide tells us the usual bullshit, not to throw rocks, don't approach wild animals, blah blah blah
>suddenly he says something along the lines of "oh, and don't get near the lake beside those two tree's
>ask him why
>he says "bears tend to hang around there a lot"
>think to myself "I don't see or hear any bears around here"
>guide asks us to split up into small groups of four and to stay close to the adults

>Fuck around until we reach peak curiosity as to what's on the lake
>Me and group decide to set forth to the lake as we're all curious as to what's there

>Have a weird feeling we're being watched
>other kids feel the same
>1 kid (let's call him jake)runs off back to the bus, ignoring everyone along the way

>Start getting a feel of dread
>That's when I see "it" at the other side of the lake

>Yell out and ask how he got there so fast

By this point, everyone in the group were scared out of their minds

>Smiles at us and runs into forest
>Something is definitely not right
>Me and rest of group run back to camp
>Arrive at camp and see jake on the bus
>I approach him and ask him what the fuck was that all about
>Visible confusion on his face
>Force him to spit the truth out
>Choking on tears, he swears to us he has no idea what we're talking about
>We apologize and go back to camp
>Ask guide about "it"
>Guide pretends to ignore us
>Give up and ride the bus back to school
The other kids in my group claimed to have seen a completely different person. Even to this day I have no clue as to how to explain this anomaly

Not of the camp, but I am a survivalist as a hobby (kinda nerdy but fuck you i like it) I go to lake huron national forest every weekend when it gets warmer (go polar bearing sometimes but I dont like it as much) I go to manistee, pictured rocks and Ottowa occasional as well. I have plenty of stories about meeting bears, wolves cougars, creepy squaters, and other scary wildlife. I have a few creepy stories but none camp related.
I have never seen or heard of any skinwalkers or those type of critters before in my time of being a survivalist. I am going to apply for a ranger job this summer so If I get it and have any good stories I will tell them

My story is more like in a grass than in a wood. Basically, the backyard of my parents house is a grassy plain with few spots of trees. Some 100 yards is a private property walled by barbed wire fence. Beyond that fence is just tall blade grasses.
