You can't fake a fake. That is to say, if the original image was meant to be a simulation of what people think an alien would look like then the (inexplicably prolific) flood of fakes and parodies are no less valid than the first and in fact may all originate from the same source. Consider for a moment WHY someone/something would simulate an image of an alien humanoid and then place it on display for public scrutiny. My theory is this has nothing to do with extraterrestrials and everything to do with AI. Notice how the background in many of the "fakes" seems to be procedurally generated, not just photoshopped. Also compare the similarities common in all versions (humanoid's upperbody/face in the lower lefthand side of the frame with trees/a tree behind) and then consider how CAPTCHA attempts to weed out humans from robots using a very similar system of visual analogy. Click all the pictures with a storefront, point out what's wrong with what an AI thinks a human thinks an alien looks like...
