You should watch The Curse of the Cat People (1944). It's a moving, sweet film about a ghost that's not scary at all and is the total opposite of the original Cat People (1942) which is quite a creepy flick (but you should watch it because Curse of the Cat People is the sequel and it has a lot of the same characters.)

Oh, that sounds like it makes sense. My only source of information on this is an episode of Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei that I saw a while ago.

When I was 4 I was walking with my mum through the town,
As we passed a church I decided it was a good idea to walk on the wall.
Needless to say I slipped and started going headfirst to the pavement and to this day my mum swears that I spun around quicker than anything she has ever seen before or since to land on my feet.

When I was 5 I wanted a bag of crisps which for some fucking reason we kept in a plastic bag on a hook above the stairs to the cellar, I banged on the door chanting for crisps and it swung open and off I tumbled head first down some solid fucking concrete steps and into the one box that was full and could soften my fall and prevent my death by head bashing into a wall.

I guess easy to explain with luck and reactions but the way I've 'survived' feels paranormal and keeps happening to this day.
