Turns out I had a rather nasty asthma attack. Nearly died of asphyxiation. Lucky my brother stays up late and heard my choking.

>open door, see lump on bed
>stop in tracks
>try to walk in, feel like im walking into a rubber band, like its getting harder and harder to move the further i go in

the obvious possibilities:
1) your bed was being used by an Other Thing with an affinity for sleeping on human children's mattresses (they're comfy and jam-packed with sentimental value) They can do weird things and that outward force + lightbulb thing was their way of making you leave and then their way of leaving.
