"Sonny" Sam Giacana was very likely involved.

It was the guy driving the car behind him. When Oswald shot, the guy in the back drew the newly issues AR15, something he wasn't trained in using, which was stored with the safety off, he swivelled it around to aim at Oswald in the window but fires off a shot as he does so.

It's true that he rubbed the CIA wrong with withdrawing his support of an invasion of Cuba, but the supposed interview of him talking about secret societies always billed as coming a couple of weeks before his death was actually years old and clearly referred to the press having a responsibility to conceal information for national security purposes during the Cold War.
