I recently finished reading the Kybalion, and was pleasently surprised that a lot of the content confirmed was pre-existing notions. Is there a core reading list, or beginers guide to follow which would aid in my continued studies?
Also, many years ago I purchased the Emerald Tablet, but never read it. Would it worth finding it (my books are complete disaray) and reading it?
Thank you!

Bump, I'm interested.

Kybalion is New Thought with a lazy paint job, not Hermeticism. Go read Corpus Hermeticum for actual Hermeticism.

The Kybalion is not Hermeticism, although it does have some good ideas. It was <<most likely>> written by Paul Foster Case, who ran off to start BOTA (look it up).
So, what you should read is the Corpus Hermeticum (incomplete, but a good read nonetheless), Chic Cicero has some good books, look into Israel Regardie (fanboy moment), the Nag Hammadi Library (if you're interested in Gnostic teachings), Crowley is a joke frequently told in some circles -- although he has a lot of knowledge, he's a whiny bitch and an attention whore/gonorrhea's #1 fan. He's still a whiny bitch and prefers not to be contacted, although he isn't hiding much (/rant). Also, look into the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, freemasonry (minus the bits where it derailed, you'll know it when you see it), Rosicrucianism, John Dee has a lot of cool information (Méphistophélès and Enochian), Poke Runyon is pretty cool, a book called <<The Secret Teaching of All Ages>> is a good Manly P. Hall book to get you introduced.
-out of breath- that's all I got.
Here is a reading list, however I don't know how good it is.

OP here. So heres my deal, Ive read some Israel Regardie when I was younger, thought I doubt I retained much. What I like about the Kbalion was that it didnt come off as trying to teach rituals or what have you, but instead was just a guide to concepts and ideas. I really liked that, I like working with concepts and seeing how they relate to one another, and then seeing how deep you can go.
Would your suggestions suit someone looking to become a ritual magician, or ideally, a scholar?
Also, thank you to you and everyone else who responded.

This looks like exactly what I was wanting. Just general knowledge about the esoteric. Thank you.
