It's not the fucking sun it is what the sun represents. Jesus fucking Christ what they're doing is trying to see god in all things good or bad. This is ying and yang. Also, in my contry, June 23 it's Saint John's eve, big party. It's a pagan celebration (Litha), bonfires and fireworks are lit. Summer solstice.

Almost all the prophets or gods were born 20ish december (winter solstice), some of them of a virgin, etc... Budha, Krishna, Jesus, Horus, Mitras, etc. Like, hundreds of them.

There's also simbolism in the 12 disciples and constellations.
