Okay /x/, hear me out.
I've found out that my maternal great great grandfather practiced (supposedly black )magick of the sorts. Howewer my grandmother will speak very little of him. He came from the Austria to my country in South America around WWI, though by searching his lastname, i've found he probably was from Germany.
I have no real belief in the paranormal/esoteric, but i've been very fond of reading about it. I just want to connect a bit more with my family's history.
Anyway, here's my question: What sort of paranormal, esoteric, magickal, pagan practices were in Germany/Austria/Hungary around WWI?
Bumping because i really wish to know

If you did your research, you would have known of the Golden Dawn & Ordo Templi Orientis, which was later taken over by Aleister Crowley's leadership.
Ordo Templi Orientis became more prominent after WW1 & the Golden Dawn's German roots died out as it shifted towards England before WW1.

I thought Hermetism was prominent only in GB, especially in 20 century. I've never heard of O. T. O. Im searching those right now though. I was lloking for practices, like Wicca, that were native of such regions

Hermeticism started in Germany in the 15th century.
And Wicca was created by people in the OTO.
