>sitting down
>really tired
>falling asleep, nodding off
>hear screams of agonizing pain
>wake back up
Try to act like nothing happened.
This happens to me every time I'm sleepy while trying to stay awake. Usually just respond by getting up. Any idea what this is?
Check out "exploding head syndrome"
It's not as cool as it sounds.

This also happens to me, but its not only screams, sometimes its laughter, but like, maniacal laughter and other times its just like a bunch of people talking, like if i were in a crowd
And it doesn't stop there, along with the noises also comes a kind of sleep paralysis, i cant control my body, but it does move, kind of like a puppet, most of the times i struggle to move, but i just cant so i try to stiffen my body and it works.
Its pretty spoopy
They're hypnagogic hallucinations! They happen when you're passing between being asleep and being awake, and can happen either when you're falling asleep or waking up.
Stopping thinking about them might help, thinking about them probably makes them more likely to happen. It will likely pass. Good luck buddy, don't sweat it!

Sometimes that just happens. Probably nothing paranormal. Just be wary.

I had that happen once. It didn't really bother me though, I focused on them and they got louder and then they stopped. It was just some bullshit my sleepy brain came up with.
