They are so close to their star they are tidally locked. Not saying that means no possibility of life however it means they are still very different from our system. Not to mention being so close to a star means higher radiation exposure but if you have life thats had to evolve in that environment as opposed to suddenly being thrown into it, nothing says it cannot adapt to those conditions.

So far all of the pictures of earth are either, lens effect from far closer, drawings/illustrations or a computer generated drawings(/illustrations) using scientific 'data' about it. None of their telescopes in 'outerspace' are actual telescopes, they only record scientific data such as Radio, IR etc(not a single photo/visual) which then a computer uses and generates what it might look like based on that data.

They admit it then switch subject without giving an explanation to why not a single photo.
