Cosmic Horror thread?

Fuck yeah.

My favorite cosmic horror story is the colour from out of space by H.P. Lovecraft.

Did a lame zombie movie script based on it once.

I tried writing cosmic horror/body horror stories amd I had few done but when I read them again year later they were fuckig horrible.
Stoped trying when my girlfriend broke up with me 4 years ago. I can't come up with anything to save my life and lost the hability to dream.
I don't know how to fix it.

I want to enjoy Lovecraft's stuff, but I've tried on several occasions and just... can't. Great lore, but reading his stories doesn't do much for me. I guess I find more enjoyment out of reading Lovecraft wiki stuff or watching YouTube videos explaining concepts and characters. Pretty sad, but that's me.

I also bought a Betta fish and named him Shub'niggurath.

Yea I am the same. I've read a few of his stories and I think his writing style is just kind of dull. Love the settings, characters and of course the monsters but the writing style is a bore.

That picture is a card from magic the garhering, emerakul, which in the card game is a titan of the eldrazi, basically eldritch horrors from the blind eterneties (space) its a 15/15 which means if you have 15 1/1 token creatures *
(Goblins, squirrels, etc) it can fully block an attack from good ol emmy, and destroy it.

I finally got a chance to see Prometheus last night.
It was cool to see Azathoth fuck a Crypto-Aryan in the mouth. Overall I give it a 9/10 for the fact that almost everyone died.

You need to connect basic horror themes with abstract themes. Obvious example is color and madness from Lovecraft. Try another sense and common theme, like Junji Ito and seeing spirals. Tons of creative things came from that simple premise.
