Can /x/ give me a rational explanation to disembodies voices that I often hear upon waking up from sleep?

To clarify, it feels as though it was the voice that awoke me from sleep, and it sounds completely real, like someone was standing in my room and shouting a word or phrase.

It started happening quite frequently recently, sometimes it is my name, other times it is a random word. Sometimes it is someone I know/knew, sometimes I can't identify the voice.

Either way it is so realistic that I am freaked out for a couple seconds after waking until my vision adjusts and I see that no one is in my bedroom.

On a maybe related note, I have been having hallucinations of a person standing at the foot of my bed. It has only happened twice so far, and usually I instinctively try to "touch" the person and as soon as my hand reaches them the vision disappears.

I have never had any paranormal experiences before and this is mildly disturbing.

Does /x/ have any explanations or theories?

Are you sure?

I was more hoping for a scientific explanation akin to sleep paralysis.

Because it sort of feels like that except it only happens right after I awake.

I'm sure someone on /x/ has experienced something similar and has an explanation for it.
