Anyone who is in/was in the military have any spooky stories from a deployment ?

The Middle East seems like then kind of place that would be crazy haunted.
>>
>>18652714
Some of the navy's ships are haunted ad but I'm too tired to type out the stories
>>
No stories here but interested in others' tales.
>>
>>18652714
I've never served, however I've heard from friends, that Afghanistan in general is a hotbed for paranormal activity.

It make sense when you consider the fact that it's been a hotbed of conflict for pretty much all time and is a very spiritual nation.

It also makes sense when you realize that you had a country full of bored, and sleep deprived 20 somethings who could have very well just made up stories to entertain / mess with others.

>sign up as Army infantry
>a year out of OSUT training, get sent to Trashcanistan
>FOB Baylough
>not too bad, we get to mortar mountain positions, and foot patrols only encounter fire outside of towns
>Timmy Taliban shits his pants when we finally get heavy artillery and crewmen choppered out
>packs up his goats, rifles, and soviet radio sets and heads deeper into the Afghan Kush mountains
>we pack up and pursue a week later
>ruck all the fucking way in (light infantry ain't so light)
>secure an awesome position on a foothill looking over a valley and little village
>mountains to our back were too steep and snowy to mount an attack from
>HESCO barriers choppered in, we fortify for three days
>meet with villagers about our intentions, then nest up in our newly christened OP Widow
>after a week or two of watching the village 24/7 with the thermal viewer, we start to notice that a man hobbles up into the mountains opposite us every night at around 1 AM
>slow and steady gimp pace, but he makes it all the way to the top and over the mountain
>figure it's just a farmer or trader
>we notice he never comes back, no matter how many times he leaves
>specific orders to watch for him returning
>fucking nothing
>villagers are questioned
>"he's just an old man"
>nothing else
>we decide to follow him, maybe that goatfucker is giving the Taliban our movement info
>two fireteams dispatched to follow him up once he's about halfway
>they make it to the top and lose him
>it's decided that we set up in his regular path and question the fucker
>we're dead in the middle of his path at midnight
>the observer at our OP radios that he's headed our way
>stops
>changes his path
>walks around us, as we're scrambling to find him in the dark with guidance from our observer
>never find him. We do this about four times with the same results
>observer says he limped the entire way at a snail's pace, and we crossed paths with him several times

Fuck Afghanistan
>>
Got unlucky and dealt with a poltergeist in afghanistan, and possibly skinwalkers there too. Interested?
>>
>>18653368
Yes, please tell.
>>
>>18653368
Yes, anon, do tell.
>>
>>18653380
Ok... poltergeist story first.
>shithole in afghanistan
>pulling guard at an acp
>in a closed box, with window.
>spitter gets knocked over.
>yo, so and so, why did you knock my spitter over?
>Realize he is on the other side of shack, pale as hell.
My bro was a hardcore christian. Mexicali dude, santa muerte tattoos and shit.
>you ok bro?
>his eyepro gets pulled off his face
>couldnt nope the fuck out
>start praying as fast as i could
>dude gets pushed, door starts slamming in the frame, table shaking even though its bolted to the fucking ground
Everything stops.
>mexicali still paler then a ginger in heaven
>proceeds to pick up his eyepro, some other things that got pulled from his flc.
>finds his mothers intials in everything he picks up.

Finish shift, trade out, and noped the fuck the sleep.
>>
>>18653451
Lmao @ "paler than a ginger in heaven".
>>
>>18653380
In class btw the skinwalker one i have much more shit. Like, it occured over 3 months.
>>
>>18653464
Keep'em coming, anon. This is a slow board, take your time.
>>
>>18653464
Gotta love that 9/11 gi bill.

Ok.
Skinwalker saga.
>get in country
You cant really describe how afghanistan smells, except as 3rd world.
Shit, sweat, and dirt.
>get to fob, establish it up, getting comfortable.
>my platoon sergeant, our rto, and one of the squad leaders are all /x/philes, so we always bullshit together
>smoking a cig before we cant anymore, and i notice that rusty smell associated with skinwalkers.
>ohgodmysides.jpg
>laugh it off as paranoria of being in "hostile" place.
Go to get some sleep, and the gang listed above all wide eyed when i walked in, asked if i smelt that.

God damnit.
>>
>>18653489
Fast forward a week.
>turns out that we weren't the only ones who smelled that smelly smell.
>1SG, XO, 3rd platoon leader and a couple of joes all did as well.
>1SG is a closet paranormal guy, but not an /x/phile
>talk to him a bit with psg, and squad leader, all NCOs here.
>he realizes that we arent alone.
>also tells us that this fob has habitually had contact with the enemy, but apparently not hadj.
Okay, so chechnians left over from early 2000's?
>No, CPL Anon (me). Just, contact.
>psg has us squad leaders have the joes always ready, running three man crews inside of the usually teams and sqauds, so no one is alone.
>glorious nighttime with the shitty NODS (NIGHT VISION).
>see movement on the other ridge.
>call psg, says watch it, hes getting the platoon leader.
>pl shows up, and starts freaking out
>says he saw this guy last night walking between guard posts.

Fuck.
That rusty smell is back.

>Hear someone rustling through the ammo area.
>No one there but the guards posted.
Who are not there.
And unaccounted for now.

>everyone wakes the fuck up, guys missing.

Psg and i are a little skeeved out because we have a funny feeling that those guys are never coming back.
>>
>>186535part three of ?
Skinwalkistan!

>joes that went missing part of 3rd platoon.
>my platoon tasked with holding the perimeter, maintain 360 security
>2nd and 3rd platoon pushing out to find the joes
>andherewego.jpg
Psg, pl, myself, and the other squad leader are talking to each other, listening and preparing for hadj.
Psg and myself are ready for something else.
>private joe snuffy calls out a passphrase
Rust smell overwhelms us again
>private joe snuffy calls it again
Rust smell everywhere

Apparently figure didnt stop, private joe snuffy shoots.

>RUST SMELL LIKE A RUSTY SKUNK SPRAYED US ALL
>Figure runs off, obviously hit, grunting.
We start responding the contact as well, try to track it.
>psg, rto, myself, and other squad leader filled with dread.
>we know it will be back.

The joes who dissapeared btw? One went to ths pisser and the other fell and got "knocked out."
Welcome to the US. Army.
Part 4 inbound.
>>
>>18653547
Keep those going!
>>
>>18653547
Part 4 of ?
On the road again in skinwalkistan.
4 or 5 weeks later
>finally a mission
Oh thank god, get away from the fob of horrors.
>CO is giving out OPORD and other shit.
>realize we are going across the valley.
>to where we saw the dude that the pl was freaking out about.
>psg and i twitching.
And we are on point.

Fuck.

>ok, np, we get joes ready. Decide to tell them about skinwalkers and shit.
Private joe snuffy has dealt with them in new hampshire, where hes from.

Well shit.

>move him to my squad, we are a forward element in the platoon
>we get ready to move the the other side of the valley

And of course.
Rust... and dried blood?

>the smell is sickening.
>we move out, another platoon in tow.
>and its a hike.

The interesting part is no fucking hadj whatsoever. We havent encountered villagers, al quida, taliban, nothing, and we have been here a month and a half, two months.
>>
>>18653566
Part 5 of ?
Echoes of skinwalkistan

>so we are walking
And walking
And walking
>and after the lt and psg being compentent, effective leaders (not sarcasm) we stop and set up a (lack of better term, forgot its official name) patrol base.
>drop packs, and proceed to plan out route to where walking dude was.
>plan out with pl, psg, and other squad lead.
>got it solid, we decide on a 1.5 hour limit.
Np.
Famous last words.
Immediately, someone starts speaking. Loud, raspy, and it sounded like they were in pain.

Our challenges (aka pass phrases) a few weeks ago were blueberry, and the response was eggos.

>voice from the love child of sandpaper and a 90 year old chainsmoking nazi started saying blueberry over and over again.
>everyone hears it.
>everyone is pulling extra security. And psg and i are nervous as fuck.

From fucking experience, ill take doped up iraqis with suicide vests over this voice every day, all day.
>eventually voice stops.
>pl wants to find it.
Einy meiny miny mo, cpl anon, lets fucking go.

>ive lived a good life.
>>
>>18653588
Part 6 of ?
Spluenking in skinwalkistan

So, we step out.
Myself, pl, pvt. Joe snuffy, and the twins, specialist fucked and specialist dicks.

>same time frame as before, 1.5 hours
>not even ten minutes of movement, and we hit a fucking cave.

EVERY FUCKING BRIEFING WE GOT SAID DONT GO INTO CAVES. EVERY. SINGLE. FUCKING. ONE.

>"CPL Anon, toss a chemlight in there, we need to check it out."
This west pointer is going to get me killed, but okay.
>pop chemlight, chuck it in.
Apparently the smell was light sensitive, cause once again, what do you know,
FUCKING RUST AND AN ACTUAL BLOOD TRAIL.
>"this must be the same hadj from a few weeks ago, the one you shot at pvt joe snuffy."

No one is going to say the blood is too fresh to be from a few weeks ago..?

>"we need to go in an investigate."
> yea, no. Remind him of the orders we had about caves. Insist we dont do stupid shit, or possibly in trouble later, and he can kiss his ass good bye to getting a leadership role later.

>at which something must have startled the specialist twins, cause they scream and start firing into the cave.

>Naturally, we took cover, and looked in the cave to get eyes on whaever they were shooting at.

There was a thing. Humanoid, around 5'10, but it looks like... nothing and no one. It looked non descript, but angry and it looked hungry. There were corpses everywhere of animals.

Needless to say, the lt decided we needed to haul ass back to the main force real quick.
>>
>>18653615
Shit man. My unit was moving out to an FOB in a convoy and the whole time there was a human shape 20 feet behind my humvee. We were in the back of the convoy. About 2 hours after it first showed up it started screeching and mimicking what we were saying into the radio. Of course driver noped and told me to shoot at it.
>>
>>18653615

idk much about skinwalkers, you had 5 full grown men with you with M4s and you didn't go after it? Can skinwalkers even be killed? Not trying to troll but I am legit curious
>>
>>18653615
Skinwalkistan; the last month with our creepy friend.

>so, mission over, head back to fob.
>no one is pleased, cause shit ramped up there.
>More rust smell, animal carcasses in the fob, mutilated. Supplies missing, and personal items.
>the 1SG is nervous as hell. The CO is a mess.
>we get back, go relax for a day.
> round 7pm
>lying in bed, chilling, and i start noticing weird shit in my room.
Wall is scratched up.
Pictures moved.
Camera gone.
>psg and squad leader notice similar things.
The smell is constant and intensifying more each day.
>start cleaning, call psg to my room.
>blood under my bed, and a hole, about 2 feet wide.
>get weapons, pull security, notify leadership.
> they are already freaking out, because psg and i were just sighted leaving the fob.

Well i hope he knows my social.webm

We lock down the fob, verify we are who we are, and then decide its time to just stay at the fob.
Had each platoon pull security for 8 hour shifts, 24 hours a day, 100% up, with one platoon on "qrf" and rest.

After that, no incidents, until we rotated back to bagram. Then the poltergeist shit happened.

I also had a paranormal moment in iraq as well, if anyone wants to hear it. It was with my first unit.
>>
>>18653666
Idk bro. My main concern was a small confined area with not alot of room to move.
Friendly fire would be horrible.

Former USAF intel, spent a lot of time analyzing feed from predators and reapers, worked with a guy who did that during the battle of fallujha. Told me this:

>watching live video feed of insurgents in cemetery
>they're sitting around a fire
>sensor is in infrared in white-hot mode
>fire and insurgents all glowing white
>a dark figure walks by them, none of them notice
>figure is almost black and blends into surrounding
>sensor op zooms out, figure no where to be found
>fucking ghost on predator feed

The guy was a no nonsense NCO so I don't think he was bullshitting

YPG volunteer here

Attached to a group which was mainly Yazidis. I didn't saw any ghost but I definitely saw things that where not normal.

People who had a grayish glow around them.
Levitation and those who practically made themselves invisible to the eyes of the enemy. I dont know how to explain it but you can clearly see them but the enemy walked by them like they where a rock or nothing there.
>>
If i'm not blocked I have some OC
>>
>>18654830
First of all thank you for volunteering, anon.

If you have any stories to share, then by all means do. How is the atmosphere, by the way? The morale?

My grandfather fought in ww2. He fought in north africa and italy for britain. A few times there were incidents of zombie krauts. Basically, after some krauts were disposed of in grisly fashion they'd get up, walk around for a bit. It typically took a nice rifle butt to the square heads in order for them to be put down.
>>
First let me say I never really post on 4chan ever. Maybe years and years ago.

Lets say I knew a guy,. knew a guy who happened to be a US serviceman in Iraq 2003. Abu Gharab (spell check) prison is where he was stationed.
Said the place was haunted amung other things, there were invisible units that helped them fight the fanatics who struck the perimeter.
Good and Evil demons were fighting. An evil spirit haunted them at night, a claw demon who got into your dreams, it clawed the walls and interrupted sleep.
The locals said it was the Goat Demon, loose translation, and the Americans awoke it.

I have more info if this makes sense and if anyone cares
>>
>>18654862
>here were invisible units that helped them fight the fanatics who struck the perimeter.
Could those units be literally invisible soldiers using some kind of secret technology?
>>
>>18654873
Thats what I told him, but he said no,
they were supernatural in nature.
The predator movie he referenced me to as an example of a shrouded way about pointing out these creatures...
They watch battlefields, following around frontline units

I was never in the military, but here is a screenshot I've got saved
>>
>>18654883

Damn, no bullshit? That's pretty creepy. I imagine if that is for real, there would be many other soldiers of this earth coming forward and admitting other-worldly battlefield presences? I mean it makes sense. If you were to be a chaotic-evil spirit that had the ability to interact in this world, I bet you would find them all over war fronts. Not being an ass, just curious if this is a known interest among the average GI Joe?
>>
>>18654935
No bullshit, Swear to God.
Thing is, that prison was headquartered around the main battle front in Iraq's Insurgency, (Fallujah)
Not many guys were there during that point in history. So there are not many accounts.
His position was under constant attack, half his unit was casualties.
Some non-paranormal stories would blow your mind. Keeping mine generic to avoid identification
>>
>>18654848
The atmosphere its very positive. The liberation of Rojava its imminent at least in Kurdish territory. The morale depends a lot in which region you are but I can say that its mostly high or good at the very least. On problematic regions PKK is taking care of Daesh.

Good news are that they are capturing territory faster than anticipated and somewhat easier than initially believed. The bad news are that the main battle tested Daesh are already leaving to their respective nations and the brain washed kids are a big part of their current force. This is very bad for the rest of the world as you can imagine.
>>
>>18653673
I'm interested if you haven't posted already
>>
>>18654974

Well then give us another, albeit generic, story about the related material?
>>
>>18654935
There is a german Song about Just that.

"Die Toten, die Toten des Regiments,
Wer glaubt denn die blieben im Grab."

Dead soldiers from generations ago being with you when going Into a Battle.
>>
>>18655031
Directly related to the cloaking figures on the ground, not much more.
Was always looking out for more people who witnessed these cloakers... not many out there..

But he did have some pictures he showed me, which to this day he never published on the internet out of fear of reprisal.
It showed the inside of the prison (you know, last time people showed inside of US prisons they got in deep shit.)
Basically you could see spirit beings sitting in chairs in various places out in the open. To me they were obvious overly large circular and cross shaped white light.
The guy who showed me wasn't phased by them when I was shocked at seeing them.
>>
>>18655080
(replying to self in addition)
The strangest interruption he accounted for was at some point they felt like they were going to lose... meaning position overrun, and if their position was lost... were talking like the US could lose the war..
He mentioned that radio communication went down, nothing but blinding noise.
Then a star appeared in the sky, it shot fire some kind of energy weapon at their enemy, the star was working for them, it turned everything bright, and burned everything around them but spared them.

I re-questioned this story multiple times.. said it must have been a secret weapon.
He said no, it was an intervention from an otherworldly force. We are powerless, but compelled to fight, they needed us in that fight for some reason.
