Is there something supernatural about music?
It can change your mood, make you motivated, relaxed or even scared. Music seems like a powerful tool.

Listen to this song. Do you feel anything?
Perhaps a flood of emotions? Goosebumps? A chilling sensation throughout the spine? Electric needles?

Let me know

I read something about it affecting/changing your DNA.

I'm not really interested in music, and I've certainly never tried to write any, but for the past few years I've been waking up with music in my head. After a couple of minutes, I've pretty much forgotten what it was.

The music is never the same. It involves a variety of instruments and voices but it's rare that I can remember any words. Generally, it's about six to twenty notes long. I'd say the quality of the music is about what you'd expect from the soundtrack of a cheap TV movie.

I'm not sure when this started, but I think it was a year or so after a couple of suicide attempts. Since then, I've become aware that there's all sorts of things going on in my mind that I'm not directly conscious of. I feel that music doesn't just create feelings, sometimes it also unlocks the hidden thoughts and feelings that were already there (like they say smell does with memories).

I like to watch the cartoon Adventure Time, but I can't listen to the end music because it reduces me to a snot-dribbling tearful wreck. Pathetic.

I think I've read somewhere that there's a phenomena that occurs to some folks where they'll hear unexplained music and singing at random times.

this is really good too

I don't think so. Music is just another medium for expressing ideas and concepts, a more basic language than words.

If music making you feel relaxed is paranormal then so is reading a book that makes you feel relaxed.
>>
Well music is something abstract, or paranormal if you wish. Think about it music is music, it's "entity" for itself, music is music, music isn't part of something or made by something, its simply music.

There's some interesting science behind certain pieces of classical music.
Actually there were some covert gov't programs focusing on them.
You know how certain songs get stuck in your head?
Those are called earworms.
Using mathematics the gov't theorized it could be possible to develop a song so catchy, that your brain wouldn't be able to shake the earworms.
You'd become a husk, a mindless drone. Your mind consumed with nothing but the earworm.
Then you would be destroyed.

At its most general description, music is just motion. Up and down, left and right, in and out. For any motion that happens in the universe, there is a music that goes with it. Even gravitational waves are music, in the sense that gravitational waves are just a motion of space/time itself.

So music is indeed a supernatural, (or really just a very natural) expression of thought. Rather than using words, or symbols, music can express thought by using "pieces" of very universe itself as examples of what you wish to convey, if you can accept the idea of a vibrational mode of energy being a "piece" of the universe.

I think, that one day, people will learn the language of cymatics, with every bit the familiarity we have today with symbolic words, and symbols. To be able to *see* a frequency, and know what note, or range that frequency represents. At such a level of familiarity with the natural motions of the universe, life can seem very magical indeed.

Imagine being able to sing someone a picture, of what you're imagining in your mind. Possibly with the assistance of cymatic "paper" at first.

Is there something supernatural about sex?
It can change your mood, make you motivated, relaxed or even scared. Sex seems like a powerful tool.
>>
>>18652130
Not being alone in the universe seems supernatural to me.

But I'm just a loner.
>>
>>18652139

I don't think I know what anyone else means by supernatural anymore.

And we're all alone, friend. Even if some of us enjoy the experience in the company of others. I, for one, feel most connected to the eidolons in my dreams. Embrace the abyss. It is, after all, eternal.
