Sometimes weird stuff can happen to you when you stimulate your endocrine system, and yoga ultimately ends up doing just that. So yes and no to answer your question. The experiences that people perceive as spiritual can be monitored in an objective way (monitoring brain and nervous system activity for example).

It is basically like getting yourself high on psychedelics, although to get that potent of results normally takes a long time of practice with yoga and meditation (the two kind of go hand in hand. They're both forms of meditation for mental and physical). I'm led to believe that these experiences are spiritual, but to each their own. Idk at the end of the day
