Do you ever notice (very rarely) a complete loss of light for a fraction of a second, even though you know for sure you didn't blink? It's as though the sun went out for a Planck time, or there was a glitch in the hologram.

Pic unrelated

It's just a cloud briefly covering the sun dude

>a Planck time

if such a time unit existed you'd not be able to notice it

Microsleep. Could also be seizures. Either sleep more/better or (or maybe and) see a doctor.

I've had that happen a couple of times but it looked more like the flicker of a power surge than a complete loss.
>>
>>18606954
Happens to me pretty frequently, once or twice a month. It's less than a full second but it does occur both indoors and outdoors
>>
>>18606954
I don't know but once in a while, I'm seeing glimpses of small portals opening up but they disappear when I try to look at them.
>>
>>18607620
Same this is a good way to put it
>>
>>18606954
I'd used to get this thing where it seemed like the light bulb went out then back on for a fraction of a second and nobody else in the room noticed it. It happened like 5-10 times for me. Hasn't happened for ages though.
>>
holy shit i thought it only happened to me
>>
>>18607156
It's this you tools. You're all not getting enough sleep.
>>
You guys get a static screen for a few seconds and then life resumes with a small change?
>>
I'm pretty sure I'm just blinking without realizing it.
>>
>>18606954
>>18607620
Very good way of explaining it
Its like the power goes out, and you know you didn't blink because you didn't feel it
>>18606963
Last time I checked, the sun doesn't shine at night (and this stuff happens to me only in the evenings when I'm on my laptop)
>>
>>18609262
It's a seizure, probably because you stood up too fast and have low blood pressure.
>>
>>18609357
Standing up too fast causes seizures now?
>>
>>18609262
It's sort of like an error screen.

It's a blue screen then it seems like everything is reloading. The physical objects load then I can see them one by one become visible.

Then after things finish loading everything is back to normal but I do notice a few changes.

It could be your body just forcing a blink but you seem adamant that that isn't it.

Staring at a screen can drain your eyes. I stare at mine for over 8 hours a day. Can play a lot of tricks on you.

>>18609262
Fucking what.
>>
or when your just going on with your day then out of no where you feel fake like life isnt real then it just hits you back to reality.
>>
Dude holy shit I actually have recently.
>>
>>18609561
They used to be under the umbrella of petit mal seizures that pretty much means it's a seizure but no biggie. What you're describing is an aura and a common cause is not having enough blood flowing to the brain. If you have low blood pressure that happens if you stand up too fast.

Try drinking more water.
>>
>>18606954
Yes. This has started happening to me only recently. I actually questioned what happened for a good 10 minutes because I know for a fact I didn't blink . I was outside in broad daylight
>>
>>18607156
this.
i really need to see a doctor.

Far more likely you blinked automatically and didn't realise, since that's how blinking is supposed to work.
>>
>>18613609
no i mean perceptively i blank out. for a scant few seconds i forget quite literally everything. occasionally the aforementioned blackness occurs. could be micro sleeps but i haven't been able to see a neurologist and i really need to see a few specialists in general.
>>
>>18613639
If you feel tired when you wake up and/or wake up in the night (interrupted sleep) then microsleeps is a very good bet. Really only happens because you haven't slept enough.

The idea that sleeping too much makes you tired is uber-old-wives tale btw but I have known doctors to repeat it without any thought. If you get bad quality sleep you will not only feel tired, you'll want to sleep more to compensate. It might sound a little hurr durr, but literally you are sleeping more because you're tired, not the other way around.

If you can it still doesn't hurt to see a doctor.

>>18613609
>Far more likely you blinked automatically
If someone turned the lights on and off in an otherwise pitch black room would you wonder if maybe you weren't just opening and closing your eyelids? That is such a weird thing to suggest.

Another thing with aura is migraines, it's often a kind of forewarning for the onset of migraine. So if you get a headache a while after you probably suffer migraines (albeit presumably modest ones). Also sometimes related to things like caffeine consumption (and being overtired) on top of blood pressure.
>>
Didnt know this was a YLYL thread. Top keks everyone.
>>
>>18606954
This happened to me and another person at the exact same time. We couldn't figure out the cause. It was like we both blinked, but both of our eyes remained open the whole brief moment.
>>
>>18610426
That's a chemical imbalance in your brain. I used to get small moments that felt fake, then the moments grew longer and increased in frequency. Now it's almost always fake. Like there's no depth to anything. If you have the means, it might be good to see someone about it before it gets worse (if it gets worse).
