Tarot decks have two types of cards. Major arcane and minor arcane. Major arcane are cards such as the Fool, the Wheel, whatever. The minor arcane cards are where each of the four suits are represented. (Wands=clubs, swords=spades, penticals=diamonds, cups=hearts.)
That way, you can do a reading with a standard deck of playing cards.

Reflections and how they move the cards into order.

I had a deck with a dotted pattern on the back so I would mark one of them to let me know which card I was looking at. The column the dot was in would tell me the suit while the row would tell me the face value. Even if someone noticed one of the dots they never thought anything of it.
