When grandpa died, they turned off the radio since it consumes alot of electricity and it needs rest(it's on 24/7).

Strange things began happening in the house. Things went missing only to appear a day or weeks later (my cross necklace disappeared and it showed up years later, my cash randomly disappears and appears), someone knocking on doors, there's turkey sounds every 12 am and 12 pm(no one owns a turkey and we live in the city), saw a doppelganger a few times, cousins keep seeing someone dressed in white in the bathroom, sometimes I feel someone watching me.

Uncle told me that we have a "tagbalay"(roughly translates to homeperson), we can't see them but they become active when we're no longer noisy. They play pranks now and then but they're good guys and they'll help you prosper if you befriend them. I joked that I hope it's a girl so that she can help me get laid.

He also told me that my mom once encountered a headless priest in the bathroom.

You guys are probably familiar with the thing called "aswang".

They are like a cross between a ghoul and a vampire, they eat human liver and heart, suck blood dry and they can shapeshift to various black animals(they prefer dogs, birds and pigs)

Descriptions about them varies from town to town, but they have one thing in common. They usually live far from villages and are a pious women. They attend churches but they leave whenever the priest starts a sermon or make us do the sign of the cross. They're either really old hags or 10/10 sexy woman (like modestly dressed and shy pornstar) you'd love to spend the night with. When the moon is full, they recite a latin prayer, rub oil on their body and transforms into the "aswang". I heard they also don't eat their relatives.

Some say they fly, some say they can jump really high. They also love feasting on newborns and pregnant women and they're usually found on roofs of their houses bending over.

Funny thing with them is they fail their animal transformation. Let's say they'll transform into a goat, but that said goat would be carrying an umbrella or a pig wearing clogs.

My friends encountered one once. They're passing a farm one night when they saw a goat on the side of the road carrying an umbrella. They didn't notice anything strange at first until one of them brought it up and they got spooked, so they ran as fast as they could.

Speaking of animals, white animals appearing out of nowhere are also said owned by "Tamawos". They are described as white cows with abnormally huge horns, white cocks with absurdly long tail or having 3 legs and are responsible for most unexplained car accidents here.

Back to the Aswangs... There's like 3 kinds here.

There's different ways on becoming an aswang. There's black magic, drinking or eating the food that they spat on and mouth to mouth transfer of their "black seed".

The common ones usually live alone, lived long enough to control their urges that they can survive by eating live stocks. They sometimes abduct and eat children. They also pounce on people but they don't make a sound. Imagine 2 dogs fighting, one doesn't make a sound but you know it's there.

There's also one that makes "tik-tik" sounds. The louder the the sound, the farther they are. They're mainly active if there's a pregnant woman in town. Loves transforming into black birds.

"Bag-ong Yanggaw" are newly infected or 1st time aswangs. Those things are creepy as fuck and when you see one... run. They hunt around as early as 3 pm - 6 pm (Regular aswangs hunts around 10 pm) and would attack groups of people (aswangs would avoid groups and would prefer hunting a single one.). They also don't give a fuck if you're inside your home, they'll barge in there and eat you. They can't control their urges and they don't even need the help of "lana" to transform.

They're afraid of salt, garlic, dull rusty knife or bolos, sharp bamboo, crosses and smell of alcohol. You can ward them away by burning various leaves to create a smoke and walking around the house swearing(these doesn't work on the Yanggaw tho, but staking a sharp bamboo infront of your window and door stops them). There's a film that centers the Baong Yanggaw called "Yanggaw", a 2008 film.

My stepfather's an all around guy and a fisherman.
He told me tales about the sea.

He told me that there are places in the land we shouldn't venture or mess around with, the same applies to the sea.

He said that we should avoid making noise or fish on specific spots around 1-3 pm and 1-3 am since spirits and the unseen are strong at these hours and might play pranks on us. Cursing's also a no no since it angers them and sea's a scary place because you have nowhere to run.

There's this one time when he was at the sea fishing when he noticed that it's eerily quiet and his net can't catch any fish. Then something bumped against his boat and he saw a shark's head. It would then disappear and show up on the other side, observing him. The said shark was huge and it's swimming around his boat, trying to scare him. It went on for hours until the shark finally left for good.

Stepfather told me alot of stories like snakes that continuously grew in size and got stuck in the mountains, so they wait for a storm so that they can go to the sea and continue to grow in the deepest parts of the ocean.

One chilly night around 11 pm, he was walking alone and he saw a house with lights that are going on and off. He ignored it but he has this uneasy feeling like something's wrong. He looked up on the roof and he saw someone clad in black bent over on top of it. Stepfather told me it makes sounds that's mixed between growling and chirping and is scratching the roof. He quickened his pace to reach his house and told the neighbor what he saw last night.

Back to old house stories...

I was around 17 when this happened.

Me and my family lived in some sort of suburb, but it was smaller than what you tipically imagine them to be. It was next to a forest and hills, which were perfect to go hiking or to jog in.
Around that time i started jogging a couple of times a week. I always decided to do this at sunset, because the scenery was more beautiful.

On one run though, the darkness caught me. I was trying to beat a personal record or something and had lost track of time. the forest and the adjacent hills were pitch dark, and my mom and dad had warned me countless times that i could easily get lost there if nightfall ever came sooner than expected. But i knew those paths like the back of my hand, it was impossible to get lost, or so i thought.
As i was running back home i began to feel eerie and weird. I turned the music in my earphones off to be more alert and picked up the pace, not wanting to spend another second more in that dark forest than I had to.

Suddenly i saw a something big and on four legs standing in the middle of the path. I froze. It hadn't seen me yet. I (stupidly) turned on the flashlight on my phone to see what i was. Turns out it was big ass, motherfucking boar. Blinded by the light, the massive animal charged towards me. I panicked and started running as far as i could, pointing my phone towards the treeline and hoping that i could find shelter in one of them. Adrenaline rushed through my veins and my heart was beating out of my chest. Finally, i saw some tree with low hanging branches i could climb on. I was safe by the time the boar caught up to me. i turned off the flashlight and for a couple of terrifying seconds, while my eyes adjusted to the dark, i couldn't see anything. We stood there a couple of minutes, starring at each other. The animal eventually got bored and left. When my brain was able to function again, i called my dad and he picked me up.

Not really paranormal, but the most terrifying experience of my life.

I began the moving out process after dad died. I kept some private journal entries behind a vent on the bottom of a built in dresser in my room.
Like, you could take the vent cover off and there was about a 3x3 small cubby behind it.
I noticed for the first time "RAYGEN" was carved into the side. Could've been there before and I'd never noticed; I'm really not sure.
Maybe it was all coincidence, but my gut tells me otherwise. A lot has been omitted because there were many small indicators of her presence throughout my 7 years in the house.
nothing freaked me out more than see in that name etched into the wood though. My stomach just dropped, and I got that uneasy feeling again.
Left the next day and never returned. My mom moved out a month later because my Dad had passed away in the house. She actually found his body. Too many awful memories there.

The house is empty and in disrepair now. I avoid driving by it. Gives me the creeps every time.
