In the early days of 4chan people used to joke that it was a hive mind.
Its basically the idea that the whole of humanity form one giant consciousness.

There is this story in the bible about a demon who was made up of a bunch of other demons "i am legion", i think jesus or someone does an exorcism and sticks the demons inside a pig lol.

when you think about it, the internet is a physical manifestation of the hive mind, this thing in which the whole of humanity writes and talks and films themselves into.

You take this idea and you feed meme's into the hive mind, then the meme's leak into reality.

Coincidences, synchronicity, there's a bunch of interesting stuff.

For example some theories like ancient aliens capture people's imagination because the cultural similarities between completely disconnected people, different time periods, different continents, but somehow they came up with the same shapes, the same alligments, the same gods, languages are similar, they even form in the same way.

The amount of basic information managed for the human race, it's not correlated with the place they developed, it's inherent to every human being, even idiots.

The collective unconscious is just the part of the unconscious mind that everyone shares. It's something you inherit simply by virtue of being human.

There's nothing metaphysical about it.
