Socioeconomic disparity is not responsible for the disproportionate crime rates. Poor whites do not commit crimes at the rates of even rich blacks. It is culture, and culture is influenced by biology. There are numerous genes linked to intelligence, there are genes linked to thinks like jealousy, and aggression as well. People are not all blank slates that will adapt equally if put into the same environment. The majority of one group will always drastically differ from the majority of another.
Blacks commit more violent crime because they are predisposed to lower intelligence, higher aggression, and lower ability to perceive consequence.
