I'm clay. I mostly only lurk on here. The book is a legend started by Frank as far as I'm aware. For more info on Frank, read this:

That's where the rabbit hole starts. Close to 12/21/12 Frank made a site, falseprophet-hq.com. It was like an ARG sort of thing, with cryptic pages, red herrings, and passwords that would allow you to progress through various levels. There was also a countdown to 12/21/12. Sometimes you would be redirected to a video which gave clues to the passwords. A lot of it was about occult stuff like sigils, saturn worship, and aliens.
Later he turned the site into a kind of satirical zine about various crazy stuff. It looks like he recently reverted it back to a puzzle site. I'm interested in seeing what's new.
There were a few pages supposedly scanned from the Book of the Lock and the Key which I had saved. As far as I'm concerned now, the book doesn't actually exist and what I had were pages full of occult symbolism arranged by Frank.
There was also /x/radio which was a livestream of music and occasional spooky stories. The chat was where the action was, as myself and a few other /x/philes were trying to figure out the passwords on the falseprophet-hq page. Frank participated in the chat under various names to throw us off. I believe that when the timer was finally up it revealed the first issue of the false prophet zine.
Another Frank related thing, earlier in the year, was the voices of /x/ threads. Pic related.

I heard from this book in a other thread. It was about who has read the "true" astral necronomicon. Someone mentioned this book, "you may just unknowingly stare at it".

Thats how the research began and how I found this old thread. Was curious even though it could be possibly roleplay.

This might get slightly of topic, but I am going to research about the worship of Saturn too. It might have a connection to the book or to Frank, since he has his own Cult of Saturn (wonder if its still active?).
Maybe these informations fit with some of his secret puzzle stuff.

The weird instructions (write a slanderous review of someone, destroy someone psychologically, drop off packages etc.) reminds me of that 7 Trials of HABIT thing that was connected with EverymanHYBRID. I think it was around the same time too.

Also whoever drew the maze in the bottom pic wasn't paying attention, or they meant for there to be a secret door or sliding wall or something. There are no continuous paths between the entrance and the exit, only dead ends.

I've looked through this a fair bit a couple of years ago and could never get to the bottom of who "Frank" was. I found stuff online about Gwynn Earle (which honestly already sounds like such a fake name), and I even rang him on the phone. He sounded nothing alike the guy in the videos and said he was asked to work on some cartoons or something for the site falseprophet magazine and that the guy tried to steal his identity and frame him for some "internet bullshit". He seemed super anxious about it and said he wants nothing to do with it anymore.

He has a shit load of aliases and works through proxies of people. I went on forums messaging people about it and they would say so and so in this skype chat would ask them to post a forum thread or whatever for points. Sometimes this would go through like 3 different people. The guy who owned the youtube channel with the video was kind of a fucker and would actually drop me some good clues on the game but I noped out of there when he sent me a url that captured my ip and found my address on googlemaps and started saying he was gonna come to my house and fuck me.

One other thing, I thought this was stupid when explained to me at the time, but it may help as someone as clue.

I asked someone I met off a new age forum who knew some stuff about esoteric books if there was a "Book of Key and Lock or Book of Loki". They said they hadn't heard of a book but there was a type of mind trance game to do with the god Loki (who is a trickster). It was done on the border of sleep and you would enter a trap like a maze, inhabited by the archetypes. And you would have to find the key to get your way out before Loki "gets you" and you end up going crazy or something. Lock and key mindset or something like that. Never found anything about it again though. Kind of reminds me of when Crowley went to the desert and almost got possessed by Choronzon 333.

The title of this book is one of my most recurrent and persistant memories prior to my mental breakdown in the late spring/summer of 2012. I don't remember many of the details but I do recall becoming increasingly obsessed with digging up as much info on it as possible. At one point I found (and had saved) a scan of the front page which I think I may either found on here or elsewhere- if anyone knows what I mean, there was a fairly modern looking woodcut illustration which felt rosicruscian in its theme. Sorry for vagueposting, I reckon I repressed/nuked with drugs a whole lot of memory from this time.

I think it means is hypnagogic sleep. Have you ever had one of those micro dreams when you're just about to sleep and you startle awake for something. Well if you keep practicing that you becoming conscious during this moment you can do stuff like lucid dreaming and force sleep paralysis, and I guess other weird states of mind, such as this lock and key state. The reason it resonated so much was that in the game "lore" the book of the lock and the key was meant to be on another dimension and only accessible in dreams. Thank you! Yep, in the thread I first found, somebody said he found it in that kind of dream state. Well, yesterday I had a very weird dream. First, it was just a normal dream. I finally recognized I was dreaming and I first started standart stuff like flying cuz it was the first time afrer such a long time.

What happened is, I suddenly got pushed on the floor. It was a road with urban buildings at the sides. But no cars, no human were there. I think I was only in underwear, just like I went to sleep. There was a big mosquito chasing me. I couldnt get up because something was pushing me to the floor. It stinged me on my right back, I could move my arms but I didn't reach to that spot to kill that fucker. It felt so fucking weird, the pain felt so real even though it was just a dream and my whole body got numb. After the effect vanished through time, I could move myself again, and I was so confused what just happened. I just looked around this environment, ran anywhere I felt like and then I don't remember, I just woke up.

It was the most real experience I had in a dream.

A good technique to enter the lucid state is by keeping a digital clock beside your bed and getting into the habit of checking the time frequently. It's best to have the digital clock in the dark. most folks have distorted dream realities so when you check the clock numbers should look all wonky. the hardest part is not waking up. Certain times are more effective than others for when you do this. perspective also works differently on the astral plane so that's also something to try and notice if you want to astral travel. If you've ever used a 3D editing program and switched between two and one point perspectives you'll know what I mean.

You used to be able to email this guy "[email protected]" or something called Frank. He would give people instructions, sometimes they were pointless sometimes they were not. People would post these 9 squares pictures in relation to the cult of saturn, and after this there were these VOX threads where they started trying to catalogue synchronicity. And all through this someone was talking about a book, and there were weird videos by a masked man.
