In October, 1984, a paranoid German man by the name of Günther Stoll was speaking to his wife about "them" (it is unclear who he meant). At around 11 PM, he shouted "Now I've got it!", then wrote the letters YOGTZE (the meaning of which has never been determined) on a paper, and immediately scratched them out. He was later found injured after a car crash, though it was determined that he had been injured before the car crash took place. He died on the way to the hospital.

In 1988, 19 year old Tara Calico disappeared in New Mexico. One year later, a photo that seemed to depict her and a small boy (possibly Michael Henley, who also disappeared from New Mexico), was found in a parking lot in Florida. HUMAN+VICTIM+UFO+MUTILATION+(2).jpg
40KB, 400x274px
This is known as the Guadapiranga Mutilation. Seven pictures surfaced of a dead Brazilian man. The extent of his injuries and autopsy report made it clear that he was killed by something not of human origin. Genitals removed with the precision of a surgeon. Rectum cored out and removed, entire body drained of blood. His "murder" also happened around the same time a few cattle mutilations were going on in the surrounding area.

http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/The_Queen_Mary
>>
>>18572629

Actually I wanna correct myself there: there weren't any cattle mutilations, there were two other HUMAN mutations in the vicinity.

Apparently the poor bastard was alive for much of the mutilation, he died of a heart attack midway due to extreme pain.
>>
>>18572650

Those mysteries are always very iffy because showy mutilations are, sadly, not that uncommon here. Like if you'd find a shallow grave where dozens of bodies laid there headless in the middle east you wouldn't think aliens, just ISIS bullshit.

also
>>18571089
Apparently this happened right in my town, Niteroi. Cool stuff, untill you read the part where it explains that they don't know the cause of death simply because the guy was busy and didn't performed a toxicological exam fast enough, so the organs went to shit before he could study the substances.

I'm sorry to be a buzzkill but I find the supernatural way more interesting when you can't explain most of these "mysteries" with mundane stuff.

Upon recent investigations they found out he was actually sick with an extremely rare virus in Brazil at that time. Boston molasses disaster
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Molasses_Flood
>At about 12:30 in the afternoon near Keany Square,[3] at 529 Commercial Street, a molasses tank 50 ft (15 m) tall, 90 ft (27 m) in diameter, and containing as much as 2,300,000 US gal (8,700 m3), collapsed. Witnesses variously reported that as it collapsed they felt the ground shake and heard a roar, a long rumble similar to the passing of an elevated train (coincidentally, with a line of that type close by), a tremendous crashing, a deep growling, or "a thunderclap-like bang!" [emphasis added], and as the rivets shot out of the tank, a machine gun-like sound.
>The collapse unleashed a wave of molasses 25 ft (8 m) high at its peak,[4] moving at 35 mph (56 km/h).[1] The molasses wave was of sufficient force to damage the girders of the adjacent Boston Elevated Railway's Atlantic Avenue structure and tip a railroad car momentarily off the tracks. Author Stephen Puleo describes how nearby buildings were swept off their foundations and crushed. Several blocks were flooded to a depth of 2 to 3 ft (60 to 90 cm).
>The Boston Globe reported that people "were picked up by a rush of air and hurled many feet." Others had debris hurled at them from the rush of sweet-smelling air. A truck was picked up and hurled into Boston Harbor. About 150 people were injured; 21 people and several horses were killed. Some were crushed and drowned by the molasses. The wounded included people, horses, and dogs; coughing fits became one of the most common ailments after the initial blast.

Clinton Road
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clinton_Road_(New_Jersey)

>The road and the land around it have gained notoriety over the years as an area rife with many legends of paranormal occurrences such as sightings of ghosts, strange creatures and gatherings of witches, Satanists and the Ku Klux Klan. It is also rumored that professional killers dispose of bodies in the surrounding woods—with one recorded case of this occurring.[2] It has been a regular subject of discussion in Weird NJ magazine, which once devoted an entire issue to it. In the words of a local police chief, "It's a long, desolate stretch and makes the imagination go nuts."
>The ghost boy at the bridge: At one of the bridges over Clinton Brook (Dead Man's Curve) near the reservoir, if you put a quarter in the middle of the road where the yellow line is, at midnight it will supposedly be promptly returned by the ghost of a boy who drowned while swimming below or had fallen in while sitting on the edge of the bridge. In some tellings an apparition is seen; in others the ghost pushes the teller into the water if they look over the side of the bridge, in order to save them from being run over as he was in life.
>Strange creatures, from hellhounds to monkeys and unidentifiable hybrids, have allegedly been seen at night. If not of supernatural origin, they are said to have been survivors of Jungle Habitat, a nearby attraction that has been closed since 1976, which have managed to survive and crossbreed.

The Hum
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hum

>The Hum is a phenomenon, or collection of phenomena, involving widespread reports of a persistent and invasive low-frequency humming, rumbling, or droning noise not audible to all people. Hums have been widely reported by national media in the UK and the United States. The Hum is sometimes prefixed with the name of a locality where the problem has been particularly publicized: e.g., the "Bristol Hum", the "Taos Hum" or the "Windsor Hum".

It is unclear whether it is a single phenomenon; different causes have been attributed. In some cases, it may be a manifestation of tinnit

Ohio Prostitute Killer
http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Ohio_Prostitute_Killer

>On April, 19th, 1990 an unidentified body of a white female was found off of Interstate 75, behind a truck stop. Four years earlier, the body of a twenty-three year old prostitute named Shirley Dean Taylor was found 100 miles away, but again this was on a major interstate. Later, eight women were linked to this particular case, because they were all believed to be prostitutes, that hung around truck stops (working).
>There are many theories linked to this case. Many people thought the killer was a law enforcement officer, because of the nature of how the bodies were dumped, and their locations. The fact that all bodies were scattered indicates that the killer(s) knew the methodology on how police investigations went about. One of the victims (that was identified in 2013) had already had an identified killer in her case, named Dennis Hetzel. He was convicted of her murder in 1993 and later died in prison. Authorities say they are unsure as to whether he was involved in any of the other cases. The only things that were known by the police is the handles that the killer(s) had used on his CB radio. These handles include Dr. No, Stargazer, and, Dragon.

Being a native Ohioan, this case interests me because it has so much mystery surrounding it, and it seems as if there were never any strong leads.

Map in next post, sorry for ant sized pictures

Cameleon Killer and the Bear Brook Murders
http://www.forensicmag.com/news/2017/01/chameleon-killer-idd-culprit-four-new-hampshire-barrel-bodies-others

Long winded but interesting nonetheless, try to sum up some tid bits.

>The killer named Evans went by at least four other names—and his true identity remains unknown. A startling investigation by the New Hampshire and California authorities, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and others have started to paint a horrifying portrait of an unknown size—though they are starting to understand its shape.
>In a complicated investigative web, it was the connection to two other missing persons cases in New Hampshire, and a completely separate murder in California, which have connected the dots of a serial killer who was apparently stalking multiple states from coast to coast—and likely has at least a half-dozen victims over decade, and potentially more.
>Police now believe Evans killed at least six people: Denise Beaudin, the four Bear Brook victims and Jun, whose murder was the one for which he was actually caught. However, the biological mother of the daughter he killed and placed in the barrel remains unknown—and unaccounted for. (Elizabeth Evans is a name that appears occasionally in documents, but investigators are unsure of her real identity.) All the known victims were killed with blunt-force trauma. Some were dismembered.
>Most chillingly, perhaps—investigators are not only unsure of what the killer’s real name is, but they’re also unsure of his travels. Beyond California and New Hampshire, he stole a car in Idaho. He is also believed to have potential connections in a wide swath of the rest of the country: Washington, Oregon, Arizona, Wyoming, Colorado, Texas, Hawaii, Missouri, Louisiana, Georgia and Virginia.

Gloria Ramirez
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gloria_Ramirez

>On February 19, 1994, Gloria Ramirez was brought into the emergency room of Riverside General Hospital by paramedics. She was extremely confused, had a high heart-rate, and breathing problems. She had cancer.
>The medical staff sedated her and as she deteriorated, tried to defibrillate her heart. They saw an oily sheen covering her body, and some smelled a fruity, garlic-like odor that they thought came from her mouth. A nurse drew some blood and noticed an ammonia-like smell coming from the tube. Another nurse noticed manila-colored particles floating in the blood.
>In short succession, three of the attending people fainted: both women who handled the blood + the respiratory therapist. All emergency room patients were evacuated, but 23 people became ill and 5 were hospitalized after the incident.A skeleton crew stayed behind to stabilize Gloria, but she died from kidney failure related to her cancer

Investigators came and determined the blood to be type O, while the residents were type A. The house quickly became an attraction for onlookers at the dismay of the resident couple. Police were never able to determine the source of the blood.
>The blood was found late Tuesday in halls, the basement and four of the six rooms in the southwest Atlanta home of William Winston, 79 years old, and his wife, Minnie Clyde Winston, 77

Pirates?
https://www.nytimes.com/2015/07/20/world/middleeast/murder-at-sea-captured-on-video-but-killers-go-free.html?_r=2

>In 2014, a taxi driver in Fiji found a cellphone on one of the seats in his taxi. With no knowledge of who left it or any identification of who the owner was, the taxi driver decides to investigate the phone himself to identify the owner. However, while looking at the gallery of the phone, he uncovered something terrifying.
>

The video was of 4 unarmed men holding onto a broken wooden boat for dear life while mariners on a different ship began firing at them. One of the victims holds his hands up for surrender, but is then shot in the head. The video goes on for 6 minutes, and 40 rounds later, all 4 men float dead on the water. Before the last man is shot, a voice on the opposite boat could be heard yelling, "Shoot, shoot, shoot!", before the crisis is over. After the men lay dead, the mariners on the boat begin laughing and turning around to take selfies. The video then ends.
>

But with witnesses, (especially the recorder themselves), however, the event was surprisingly never reported. No witnesses came forward, and the victims or the mariners were unidentified. Law enforcement didn't even know about the incident before it was leaked onto the Internet, where it got popular.
>

Taiwanese fishing authorities have identified the broken boat as a typical Taiwanese fishing boat, but have chalked up the incident to a failed pirate takeover, which resulted in execution. However, maritime security officials have said that the excuse of piracy has been used to cover up many incidents such as this, and have said that this even could be the result of a mutinied crew, innocent local fishermen, stowaways, or thieves stealing owned fish/bait.

The Suicide Of Robert Budd Dwyer
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KHo6pTo9qBI

>In the early 1980s, Pennsylvania discovered its state workers had overpaid federal taxes due to errors in state withholding. Many accounting firms competed for a multimillion-dollar contract to determine compensation to each employee. In 1986, Dwyer was convicted of receiving a bribe from the California firm that ultimately won the contract. He was scheduled to be sentenced on those charges on January 23, 1987, the day after his suicide.
>Robert Budd Dwyer (November 21, 1939 – January 22, 1987) was an American politician in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He served from 1971 to 1981 as a Republican member of the Pennsylvania State Senate representing the state's 50th district. He served as the 30th Treasurer of Pennsylvania from January 20, 1981, until his death. On that day, Dwyer called a news conference in the Pennsylvania state capitol of Harrisburg where he killed himself in front of the gathered reporters with a .357 Magnum revolver.[5] Dwyer's suicide was broadcast later that day to a wide television audience across Pennsylvania.

The Murder Of Jeff Doucet
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyO81Wcb_v0

>Plauche was friends with several high-ranking police officers in the Baton Rouge Police Department; while many people believed that these contacts told Plauche where and when Doucet would be arriving, it was actually an employee of the TV news station WBRZ who gave Plauche the information. A news television crew was also waiting for Doucet and had set up their cameras to record his arrival. Opposite the news crew was a bank of pay telephones, where Plauche waited while talking to his best friend on a telephone. He wore a baseball cap and sunglasses, so no one recognized him.[4]
>As Doucet was escorted through the airport, he passed the television crew who were taping the scene. He then walked past Plauche, who took out his gun and fired a single shot, directly at the right side of Doucet's head, at point-blank range. Doucet immediately fell to the floor, and Plauche placed the gun down before officers restrained him.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bi-63lCFnFQ

>Only one of the victims was killed in Snowtown, which is approximately 140 kilometres (87 miles) north of Adelaide, and none of the eleven victims nor the perpetrators were from the town. Though motivation for the murders is unclear, the killers were led by Bunting to believe that the victims were paedophiles, homosexuals or "weak". In at least some instances, the murders were preceded by torture, and efforts were made to appropriate victims' Centrelink social security payments and bank funds.

Its now believed that Dwyer was innocent of the charges he was convicted of. A key witness who testified against him not long ago admitted that he lied under oath in his testimony against Dwyer.

The other key take away is that by committing suicide Dwyer didn't have to pay his fine of $300,000, and more so because he died while still in office, his family was able to receive survivor's benefits. I think they got something to the tune of $1,500,000 in benefits from the state.

Poor old Budd was an innocent man who used his dying act to provide for his family.

I thought they figured out that that was due to one of the saline (or chemical) bags being used to house one of the ingredients for meth. Like, there had been a string of meth labs being set up in hospitals and people would store the different ingredients in saline pouches and shit, and then make the meth during the graveyard shift. This chick just happened to be unlucky and got hit with one of the "dirty" bags, and when the fumes were expelled from the bag they affected everyone in the vicinity.

There was a good dollop podcast about it, if I remember right.

>>
>>18578568
If you listen to the podcast I mention, they talk about how several hospitals in that state had gotten busted for the meth stuff. Also, blood had been drawn from the woman in an ambulance and no one was affected in said ambulance.

Not to mention the fact that the way her body was handled after the fact destroyed any chances they had for testing her for any of the chems used to make meth. Rumour is that the hospital themselves did that shit on purpose because they didnt want to be caught up in a scandal.

They just demolished and rebuilt dead man's curve which is a real shame. It I didn't believe in any of the myths and I went there with one of my friends and parked his car in the middle of the bridge and turned it off. We threw the pennies out the window. The first two bounced off the rocks and about a second later and hit the creek. They made a little splash sound. My friend kept egging me on so I threw a third penny. It hit the rocks, and 2 seconds later it hit the rocks again. It didn't hit the creek. It kind of clattered as it settled. I can't describe it, because a penny isn't very heavy, but it makes a louder sound falling from the bridge than from beneath it. The penny couldn't have come back up on its own, and it hit the rocks and made the sound with the same loudness as when I threw it. The first thing my friend said was that maybe someone was down there messing with us. Bad shit happens on that road, a ton of people have died of accidents and murder victims have been dumped for a long time. Cool place

nice luck trips!

Yeah, they ARE comedians, and liberals (thankfully they keep the trump doom and gloom to a minimum. Dont care what side of the coin youre on, its getting old now), but they research the HELL out of their subjects, and in the case of the riverside woman, they even say that its speculation and rumours based on other hospitals getting busted, the symptoms people were showing and other factors.

Ultimately, considering her body being destroyed before any hard evidence could be found, it will always be an "unsolved" case, but its definitely one where all the pieces fit. And as they said, the real sad thing is, a woman died in a way that could have been prevented (the hospital system KNEW this woman had an easily treatable form of cancer, but the paperwork got fucked. They actually had the results when her shit was like stage one, with a good mortality rate with the right treatments, they didnt tell her for years) and her legacy now and forever will be as "The Toxic Woman of Riverside".

Talk about being dealt a shit hand and having a shit ending.

>Voynich is Latin

If it was Latin we would definitely know by now, it would be easy to see based on letter/word frequencies and the regular appearance of certain words in certain positions in sentences, even if the script was completely invented.

If Voynich is written in a natural language, then it's either a very obscure and dead dialect of a natural language (some people have proposed Manchu, others have proposed Native American languages), or it's heavily encrypted.

I suppose, but he was a desperate man.
Adamantly professed his innocence right up to the very end. He and his family would have been financially ruined by his sentence, so he hastily concocted a plan, and it was one he thought had the best chance of success. Some people there to witness the event pleaded with him, some even tried to approach him, maybe try to take the revolver away, but they backed away in fear.

Its a pretty sad way to go, but he had the conviction to go through with it. A lesser man might have just gone to prison and become a ruined drunk.

Rumor has it, that the book was completely made up in the 1600s? Maybe earlier, and tried to be passed off at that time as a much older book. Whomever owned it tried to sell it to the king of poland or something, as a final, recently discovered 4th volume of a famous explorer's memoirs.

I can't recall the specifics right now, sorry.

Not quite right, I remember reading that due to how much books were worth, the writers would write them in a sort of code as a kind of "anti-piracy" measure way back when.

Not really a mystery.

>Gary and his son Jody on custody weekends went out to the movies, and in the early 1980's, karate was king. Battle Creek Brawl to Cannonball Run, the grace of martial arts was beginning to seep into the American consciousness. Jody wanted to enroll in karate lessons and soon was a star pupil of the strip mall dojo. His instructor, Jeff Doucet payed particular attention to him, offering him jobs to stay late and help clean the studio, learn some extra pointers, get a little bit of extra practice.

>Then one early spring Saturday morning, Doucet came to Gary's home and asked to take Jody to help carpet the Karate studio. hours passed, then days, and it sunk in that something was terribly wrong. Frantic police calls in the surreal haze of loss, when suddenly the phone rang.

>Jody was calling from a California motel room, Jeff Doucet had left if only for a moment, and in less than an hour the police surrounded the building and rescued the boy.

2010- Malibu

The search team rolling across the hills of Malibu Canyon find a concrete embankment with fresh wet paint, a sinister greeting to the Land of Afro.
The mural was no mistake, no teenage joke, it was a message about the girl who these volunteers were searching for, about the girls these volunteers didn't even know were missing too.

Mitrice Richardson went missing after suffering a bipolar episode and being taken into police custody. Despite her family calling to ask them to keep her for psychological evaluation and ensure her safety, she was let free at 1 A.M from the police station with no transportation and no notification to the family. She was more than thirty miles from her home, and would never been seen alive again.

There were numerous sightings of women matching her description across the American southwest, largely tied to the operating area suspected as a human trafficking ring. These sightings stopped after the mural was found.

Months later, near a known grow operation, her skeletal remains were found. The Malibu Police Department ruled her death accidental despite the coroner noting that several key bones to determining cause of death were missing. Gone in the same ghostly blue haze over South California, gliding above all.

I've always been interested in the Felix Moncla case, which is always pushed as a UFO case but has two very real mysteries involved in it (i don't believe in ayylmaos)

>1953
> jet is scrambled from Kinross AFB in Michigan to investigate unknown radar target 'near Soo locks'
>Lt Felix Moncla / 2nd Lt Robert Wilson directed to target location but are unable to see anything
>radar returns supposedly 'merge' and radio contact with jet is lost (unlikely)
>some brief transmission heard from jet shortly after, indicating they were flying along normally
>jet never returned to base
>search of lake and shore turned up nothing

Old radar doesn't work like in the movies, there aren't 'blips' and if two returns 'merge' all that means is that they are close together... the distance can still be several hundred feet.

There was a Canadian Air Force C-47 flying through the area at the same time, direction, speed and altitude as the mystery target on radar. The US later accepted this explanation but insisted the Canadian plane was off-course, something the pilot adamantly denies. They may have been justifying an impromptu war-game, as intercepting a known aircraft in Canadian airspace with a US warplane carrying live weapons would be a huge incident, even if it was just for laffs, m8s.

It gets more interesting... some aircraft 'parts' were found north of the Soo fifteen years later, as reported by the Sault Star newspaper, and they were shown to the USAF who confirmed they were consistent with military jet parts but did not feel they were from the missing jet. There's no record of any investigation by Transport Canada though. There's also no records from Canada's DoD of having lost any of our jets in that area. Jet plane parts don't just appear in the bush, but at the same time a whole F-89 would be pretty obvious even smashed to pieces.
>>
>>18582506

As to what made the F-89 crash... Moncla was an excellent pilot but suffered from bouts of vertigo and disorientation and shouldn't have been cleared to fly. I bet the reason for the cursory 'investigation' by the USAF is to avoid telling people they sent a medically unqualified pilot after a transport plane flying in foreign airspace as a 'practice' interception.

So I've been looking into Mitrice's case since I stumbled upon the post early this morning.
It's bizarre; none of the articles (from LA daily news, daily beast) go into detail about the mural. It's not even included in the former, and only mentions that the mural was discovered months after her remains were found in the latter.
Obviously someone knows what happened to her. The police work surrounding her disappearance is sketchy and botched.
Not much info available. Has anyone else found anything?
The details seem to point to police or cartel (or both) involvement in her death.

I have read several books on this, written by people who visited the site. Avalanche of course was first on the list for many investigators. The location of the tent was such that an avalanche was basically impossible. The height and angle of the slope are not sufficient to generate an avalanche. If it were to happen, it would not be able to maintain enough velocity to make it down the slope to their tent. The tent was not buried under snow completely, and didn't appear to have been in an avalanche. It was still partly assembled. The biggest thing with the tent are the cuts in it, from the inside out. Something caused all of them to panic so badly they cut their way out of their own shelter. Didn't put on boots or clothes or grab any supplies. Sheer terror drove them to all flee to a certain death.

The most logical explanation put forward is that the incredible strong winds that night caused low frequency reverb and it was just the right freq to cause adverse reaction. This is a known phenomena. In experiments it caused subjects to feel terror, sickness, nausea, chills and a general feeling of dread and doom. The strength of the reverb generated by winds so high at this location could easily cause all of those symptoms in drastic levels.

Their brains told them to flee now or be killed and it overrode all other thoughts. Several left through the cut on the back and went one way, the others through the front in opposite direction. As they escaped away from the area, the panic abated and reality set in. Two died around the base of a small fire they started, a few fell down a ditch in the dark and got all banged up, one died trying to reach another group.

They became victims of a sound attack currently in field testing by US and Israeli militaries. It just so happened this was natural and a result of the topography of their camp area.

hey guys

sometimes i 'summon' otherworldly orbs with my meditation

i am outside when it happens meditating on the true nature of the universe

i contemplate reality, like, REALLY hard
the known universe as i know and understand it.

just a few times i've opened my eyes and seen orbs i don't understand.
most of the time they look as distant as the stars but i know they aren't

they seem to be 'looking' at me.
they seem sentient
seeing them fills me with both elation and fear
they only last a few seconds. pretty sure i can summon them at will with thought/meditation but honesty most of the time i'm a bit scared

i don't know what i'm communicating with/seeing
