Anyway, yesterday I tried to get to the location the man gave me, but I couldn't find a pass that isn't blocked by rocks. The place is completely barren, and I am about 16 kilometers from the dead sea. I have reception when I am on the peak of the mountain range near my shelter, onto which I climb from the back to post. I had the same nightmare again yesterday night, and today I wonder how can I return the coins to their rightful place, I am scared shitless and was awake for most of last night after the nightmare and I keep hearing very loud clicking noises, which I have recorded.

The nightmares are always identical, sometimes even at the same time, at around 2:30 AM. I can see myself outside of my body just falling through complete emptiness endlessly, then I feel my actual body falling through my sleeping bag and floating and then I wake up and hear these clicking noises. It's been that way when I was at home, but the clicking sounds more intense here, probably because no other sounds drown it out.
There's no wind here, no rain, and barely and plantlife. The only animal I've seen these two weeks was one small bird who was passing by. The clicking goes on until I fall asleep again, and is usually gone by the morning. Whenever I hear the clicking, I have this feeling in the back of my neck as if someone is breathing really close to my back, and I can feel something looking at me. I assure myself it's just paranoia and the effect of being alone in the desert, but it still scares me nonetheless.

I don't know if it's the case of OP, but some cameras (even on phones) shoot 4:3 because of how the sensor is, and then crop or resize the image for 16:9. The maximum quality and light sensitivity setting on those is 4:3.

If you mean what I did to the pictures, it's a very simple tweak that makes it so that the information in the image is "stretched" in the color spectrum so that it uses all of it detail can be seen better (instead of all the detail being crammed in the darker areas of the spectrum like in these pics). It's pretty similar to good old x-raying actually.

First recording is not loud enough to be processed well, but how about this - the second recording. The pattern of sound is rather mechanical, as OP said it has a rhythm.
The two sequences of four ticks are nearly identical (except the disturbance at the third tick, but that sounds like breathing).
Such an audio pattern can NOT be natural.

Well, Synapse can explain why you have compression and why there's absolute silence (noise reduction is being applied), but you got voices in there in the third recording.

The voices can only be heard during the "bangs", probably because they are too low volume and the Synapse thing considers them background noise. I suspect that if you disable noise reduction we will be able to hear them using amplification.

Cont, I proceeded through the cave system and reached what seems to be some sort of oasis, there is one big waterfall (pic related) that splits into three smaller ones down the cliff (one of which I tried to photograph last night when my camera went corrupt).
Anyway, here's the story of what happened last night.

Update, we called the guys at the nature reserve. OP's story is at least partially true.
First victim they had in two months, fell off where we thought he did and broke his neck and spine. Identified as (they did not agree to say a name) a 39 year old man who worked at a gas station in Beer-Sheva, so definitely not an archaeologist. With him he had a backpack with a hand-drawn map of the desert, water, nuts, and his phone. The phone was given into police custody so whatever happens next to him is beyond our knowledge but at least we know there is some truth to what's happening here.

We are currently climbing up on Masada, strangely enough there are no tourists. It's raining a bit, which is very strange for the desert, but I guess that's why there are no tourists here.

We have reached Masada's peak. Now here's a bit of storytime.
Masada was built by Herod the Great, a ruler sent by house Selevcus to control ancient Judea
Masada was his winter fortress, he stocked it with massive pools and food stocks that lasted for hundreds of years. It is well protected and is about 400 meters high from the ground up.
Eventually, a group of Judeans who rebelled against Rome fled to Masada and captured it. Living there peacefully until the Romans began building the battery trail. For many years the Romans stocked up more rocks and more dirt until they eventually literally built a mountain leading to Masada, that is the battery trail we climbed. On the day before the Romans managed to reach Masada's peak, the residents made an agreement. They would not be taken captive by the Romans, as this is a punishment wore than death, so all the men slit the throats of their children and wives, then they slashed eachother's throats by coin flips, until one man was left standing, and he stabbed himself in the heart.
Three women and a child managed to escape this through the snake path and get to Josephus and tell him the story which he then archived. The Romans arrived in Masada only to find everyone dead, but saw that there are many supplies remaining. At that moment the Romans understood that the residents of Masada CHOSE to die to not be held captive by them, and the Romans gave up the chase.

Hi guys, rescue team dude here.
I know nothing of the legitimacy of the coin story itself, here's what I do know :
We found OP very confused, clearly dehydrated. He screamed at us a bit for why it took us so long, rambled a bit about the coins, told us that nobody believes him.
Even if he did lie, looks like he believes his own lies.
After the picture was taken he started walking with us and then just collapsed. We carried him all the way back to the car and drove him to a hospital
Confirmed that his knee did get infected, even though no open wound is seen there was some very minor skin tissue damage through which bacterium entered (That's what the nurse explained to us)
He's now under some painkillers and asleep, I managed to get in contact with his brother, even though he claimed to have no family or friends. His brother is on his way here now.
We'll never know if the story of the coins is real or not, but at least we saved a very troubled person's life. Thanks /x/ for this adventure!

Rescue guy here again, so here's the whole business, his brother explained on the phone.
Our OP has severe schizophrenia, but is fully functioning. His delusions don't show in day to day life, but he has intense periods of psychosis triggered by things he reads online.
When going through such a period, he fully believes everything he tells, and puts effort into proving everyone, getting very offended when someone doesn't believe and reacting violently and irrationally.
There were no coins, OP came up with it, but not to meme you guys or to troll you, just because that's what he felt compelled to do.
Poor guy has no actual friends, and browses 4chan all the time, he is especially fascinated with /x/ because his belief that his mental illness is of a paranormal origin.
So, tl;dr, OP is mentally ill, he came up with a story for himself, believed it, went on a VERY dangerous quest to prove it, did a sloppy job at proving to other people, almost got killed, we rescued him, his brother said he will probably take him in to live with him after he gets released from the psychiatric ward (If admitted)

The coin on black background was probably from some online catalogue which is where he probably got the other coin images from for the MS paint image.
