I had a dream last night where by I was instructed (in my own voice) to investigate 'fractal time' or 'chaos history' - not sure about the second one. Other themes in the dream include being chased by the Joker (from Batman) with the sequence repeating with minor variations like in Dr Strange.
So tell me /x/, what is 'fractal time' exactly?

it's a book

I don't think that book is particularly what I'm looking for.

The 1990s. Every dickhead with an Atari or Amiga was looking at "the infinite world of fractals" which all looked the exact same. Might as well have been fascinated with a calculator dividing 100 by 3 and going "WOW" at all the INFINITE 3s.

sorry for meme'ing you
i have no idea what this could mean, maybe it's just a normal random dream
but stay open minded

I have a maths background. Yeah it's sort of interesting. But meh.
Not interested in fractal geometry here, but whatever 'fractal time' means.

Here it's a documentary on them, this is a good place to start your research.

Fractal is where you map a point to a space, which results in a fractured pattern when you try to make it a mapping to other points. The pattern that results is often self similar too because as you zoom in on a space you stick in more points to map to that break the space apart in a similar way.
This is one perspective on them taken from constructal theory, it's quite a nice one though.
Also fractals and chaos are related. There are a bunch of good books, Chaotic and Fractal Dynamics has a nice introduction and first few chapters imo though you may find the vocab a bit much at first. I'm p sure there's a pdf of it on the internet.

>fractal geometry
>fractal time
>two different things
Anon, have you considered time as a spatial dimension?
