The actual idea is, that Satan (or Lucifer for that matter) is a concept of self-improvement, self-reliance and constant awareness. With emphasis on awareness, because it leads you to constantly question the world and the "truths" that are presented to you by anyone (not only "christian truth" but anything - that also includes also and especially any form of delusion).
And it represents making conscious decisions and standing with them, because there's no-one that would fix it for you but yourself.

Some add a spiritual glance and do things like kundalini-meditation or even add a breeze of theism (be it the adversary himself or other left-hand idols like Lilith or Tiamat - sometimes all together).

The most important thing is, that Satanism is no fixed ideology but rather opposes ideologies of any kind, because ideologies confine people - spiritually, space- and mind-wise - rather than giving them freedom.

My beliefs are much more complex to fit into any one label, but the closest you could compare me to is a Theistic Luciferian. The problem with most theistic satanists is that there is no core set of beliefs among the religion as there is Christianity, with their Bibles, or Judaism, with the Torah, or even Satanism with their LaVeyan Satanic Bible. There is no (at least to my knowledge) founding religious text for theistics. That is why their beliefs range quite dramatically from person to person.

Also I don't exactly see where the problem would be. Satanism (including theistic satanism and also luciferianism) is a (set of) concept(s). Philosophies. They are no plain ideologies as one would suspect and as is promoted by the "good christians" (and many others).

The second you bring in doctrine, you don't have said types of philosophies anymore but simply reverse-christians. And that's something that is undesirable as satan- and luciferianism are a way of self-worship and self-deification (when you add the magick and/or kundalini into the recipe).

That's at least my point of view. Satan (or Lucifer for that matter) is the adversary. It's an anti-principle that stands for the I. For what the I is capable. For the I that is an animal contrary to what for example the christians teach. For that the I is only responsible for itself and not other flesh nor mind or spirit.
Being aware is key. Doing things consciously is key. That are the only things necessary. Anything else is only preference or ideology, which as I said is bad at any level.
