When bad things happen people say God had a plan, there's a reason for it, trust him etc
If that's the case, why bother with prayer, or any religious practices at all. You're not going to change the mind of a deity in your favor, your not altering "the plan"
everything is going to happen the same, so you are just wasting your time with your own selfish requests.
He has a plan, apparently, and if it involves killing your family with cancer, tsunamis, tornados, or random accidents. No amount of head bowing is going to change that.

You have willpower and can change things, prayer is a way to connect with god, the universe or whatever you wanna call it.
And all the things you listed are as divine and natural course of the universe as anything "good" that has ever happened. We live, we die, we live again.

God demands prayer because he is a narcissist who needs to hear praise

even the amount of prayer you do is predestined so yeah
sometimes praying makes you feel better, for one thing. it's a declaration and affirmation of your desires, and a named desire is generally easier to cope with than an unnamed, undefined one.
on a psychological level it fulfils a similar role as stating your magical intent in a ritual. it is a way of making your desires more official. it's like a memo to all parts of your mind. so your unconscious, metaconscious (if you believe in that) etc. will spend extra resources in the background helping you figure out a solution to the situation you're praying about.
in addition, I personally like to think that even if god can't do anything about it, there may be lesser benevolent beings who are listening as well, who can make things easier for you if nothing else. they say everything is predetermined but who knows if that's every jot and tiddle or just the big stuff?
if nothing else, it can't hurt to get it off your chest, even if it's only to yourself.
Prayer only works if it is aramaic the language jesus spoke.
go learn aramaic op
You pray as a way to further connect to God and heal the spirit. And a lot of God's will is done through the work of His angels who can be swayed to help fellow you servants of the Lord with an honest request that allows them to act through your choice of Free Will, God wants you to make the choice to ask Him for help. Prayer is a way to make those requests.
Praying and begging are two different things.
