What is there to transcend to? And what did we transcend from? Your question implies that our being human is quantifiable, and that there is a way to be quantifiably more human as we evolve along a set path. What if there simply is no path to begin with? Nothing would be able to be "transcended" because there is no objectively better or worse things to be than what you already are.
