I've spoken with several girls and guys from /x/ but outside of /x/ and I can definitely say that /x/ has a larger number of girls than most other boards based on my experience.

I've been on 4chan for more than a decade, /x/ is my main and you can quickly google that 4chan estimates its user base at 70/30 male/female.

So, we can assume that if more girls come to /x/ than the average board we have a higher than 30% rate of female users. My experience agrees with this so I think its correct.

As for why girls are more into occult stuff?

Well, probably for the same reason that archeologists believe women 'invented' the first 'weapons' - a sharp stick basically.

To do something they needed to do but couldnt do already. Defend yourself without as much muscle? Stab with pointy stick.

Risk exploring that cave or use ritual aided 'intuition'?

That of course doesnt mean guys cant make weapons or into occult, just suggestions as to the origins, possibly even of psychic ability.
