As I understand it, there are 2 different types of satanism: Laveyan satanism and Luciferianism.

Laveyan satanism is not a literal belief in YHVH or Lucifer, but more of a philosophy. Originally when Anton Lavey wrote the Satanic Bible it was meant to be a mockery of Jewish/Christian practices and beliefs that he found abhorrent, such as a supposed God needing blood sacrifices to be appeased.

Luciferianism is where actual "devil worship" takes place. They believe that YHVH is indeed the creator of the universe but that he does not truly have the best interest of humans at heart. So instead of worshipping and siding with the creator, they worship and side with his main adversary. Although they know full well that ultimately YHVH will prevail over Lucifer and win the spiritual war, they side with him anyway, assumably as a statement against how badly they think YHVH runs things.

Also on a mostly unrelated note, 666 wasn't ever actually the number or sign of the beast. It was apparently a mistranslation that they didn't realize was incorrect until relatively recently when more historical records of biblical times surfaced. Turns out the real number of the beast is 616. Kinda awkward how religious conspiracy nuts always look for any patterns of 666 (like Saturn and it's hexagonal poles) only to discover now that it was all rubbish to begin with.
