This is a good one, I don't personally know anyone in mind. I will say that the idea makes me want to give my opinion, I would be scared shitless if i was captured and killed by a psychopath. Why? Because they're worse than regular killers. They're batshit crazy.

You can kill kids and be a spokesperson for Al Qaeda and get away with it beause "hurr durr he crashed a plane that one time".

It's just so weird... more so than some serial killer that fucked corpses and then going to jail for it. It's like "Yeah, so?"
>>

FBI's definition of "mass" shooting is 3 or more people being shot (not necessarily killed, just shot).

What's the governments definition of "serial" killer?
>>
>>18522741
They're not on the same level, at all.

Have a quote by Carl Panzram, to see how fucked up they really are.

"I sat down to think things over a bit. While I was sitting there, a little kid about eleven or twelve years old came bumming around. He was looking for something. He found it too. I took him out to a gravel pit about one quarter miles away. I left him there, but first committed sodomy on him and then killed him. His brains were coming out of his ears when I left him, and he will never be any deader."

The Widow Puente was quite a dame. I had a friend who used to exchange recipes with her through the mail. Made me a casserole of Dorothea's and I have to say, it was mighty tasty.

My favorite serial killer is pic related. Oddly, I don't find him very scary, even though I would have been exactly his sort of victim at one point. But he is too much like me to be scared of him.
>>
>>18522291
I suspect that poster was thinking more of McCain's work a neocon warmonger--funding ISIS, that sort of thing. There are pics of him with the founder/leader of ISIS, al-Baghdadi.

Additionally, in recent years some of McCain's former comrades-in-arms have come out with some pretty damning stories about him. It appears he wasn't well liked at all.
>>
>>18522756
Panzram was simply amazing. Described as the meanest man who ever lived and he pretty much tried hard to be just that. Although he could also be very civil and intelligent to anyone who treated him well. He was sort of homosexual, too, but in a sadistic way. He just liked getting back at men since he'd been abused by men all his life, most likely.

Richard Ramirez.
He doesn't scare me, but I'm fascinated with this individual. He was smart, manipulative and charismatic.
I find his situation to be rather comical as well. Raped/brutally murdered old women and ends up being praised by thousands of females worldwide. Gets sentenced to death and spends life in prison, receiving countless gifts and letters from admirers, and dies of natural causes at an old age.

Albert Fish is slightly frightening, depending on how you put it.

The last 8 out of 10 serial killers caught in the usa were african-americans.
blacks killers usually have a hard time becoming serial killers because they tend to have extremely low iq, don't know how to plan, they get caught pretty quick and always convicted from all the evidence they leave behind.
also, there is a myth that only whites are pedos, but blacks have the highest rate of child pedophilia. seriously? blacks will have sex with anything. anything.

Eh? I'm not entirely sure if it was Ramirez's case. He was an experienced thief before he began his murder sprees, so he'd sneak in the less secured houses at night and finish his job before the sun would rise. Once he nearly got inside the house of the sheriff investigating him.

Was just thinking of Gacy. I have a bunch of books on criminology and I always found him to be seriously disturbing. You guys should check out Christopher Berry-Dee, he's my favourite true crime writer. Serial Killers: Up Close and Personal has a really good, condensed but detailed account of Gacy's early life and all the shit he pulled.

Actually got nightmares from reading about him. They pulled 33 bodies up from under his house, apparently the conditions were really wet too. It was like body soup. I can't even imagine how fucked up that was for the forensics people.

I also really hate those two guys, the cousins... One's last name was Waterfield? They would cruise around and "hunt" for "women" to torture and rape for days at a time then kill them. Some of the "women" were teens. Only one girl ever survived them. first heard about her on that show I Survived

David Gore comes to mind as well, and Arthur Shawcross. Two seriously delusional sick fucks. Glad Gore got the lethal injection.

That kinda thing interests me more then how many people a particular nutjob killed.

For example, I’ve noticed from our free local city paper’s “crime watch” column, that most crimes in the city seem to happen along a particular road and I suspect that’s because there are a lot of apartment complexes on that road and they’re virtually all populated by Black people, who tend to commit a high percentage of crimes.

> ITT: Bunch of peasant amateurs...

The exact number of Elizabeth Báthory's victims is unknown, and even contemporary estimates differed greatly. During the trial, Szentes and Ficko reported 36 and 37 victims respectively, during their periods of service.[citation needed] The other defendants estimated a number of 50 or higher.[citation needed] Many Sárvár castle personnel estimated the number of bodies removed from the castle at between 100 and 200.[citation needed] One witness, a woman named Susannah, who spoke at the trial mentioned a book in which Báthory supposedly kept a list of a total of over 650 victims, and this number has passed into legend.[5] As the number of 650 could not be proven, the official count remained at 80.[4] Reportedly, the location of the diaries is unknown but 32 letters written by Báthory are stored in the Hungarian state archives in Budapest.[8]

>Who scares you the most?
Probably Gary Ridgeway. It's kind of weird now, knowing that he's a non-scary retard, but I grew up in Western Washington just after his main killing spree, but before they caught him. He was still a big mystery, and every time anyone went missing, the news would talk about how the Green River Killer was back. It was hard not be affected by that as a kid; he was basically kind a boogeyman that actually existed and was out there.

>Who is the killer who captures your morbid interest the most?
Ted Bundy. Kind of cliche, but, I grew up around the area he was from, and you still heard a lot about him. It's just fascinating to me that someone that smart and well-liked could have ended up being that much of a monster. I mean, I know people whose parents knew him and thought he was a great guy; some people even thought he would be governor one day. It's fucking strange.

a serial killer is different from a mass murderer. the qualities that define a serial killer can be applied to someone who hasn't even killed anyone. a mass murderer may or may not be defined clinically as a serial killer, but by killing a bunch of cucks at once, the killer becomes a mass murderer. a serial killer can be diagnosed by a psychiatrist without having killed anyone; they exhibit behaviors, patterns and habits of a certain profile without killing anyone to be diagnosed as a serial killer.

Criminology and psychology student, future forensic psychologist. These are the three most interesting killers according to me. Ask me anything about serial murder and I will have an answer for you.

>Dean Corll
Murdered 28+ young boys in Houston, Texas within 3 years. Dean was an expert manipulator and excelled in premeditation. He might've never been caught if his accomplice didn't feel peer pressure from a girlfriend.

>Golden State Killer
Even better at premeditation, GSK began his crime spree as a burglar and eventually became a serial rapist. As he became more sadistic, his rapes turned into murders. He stalked the homes he invaded for days, finding out the family's routine and planning his attack.

>Israel Keyes
Drove and traveled around Canada and the U.S. depositing 'murder caches' of firearms, suppressors, drano or other chemicals used in deteriorating human bodies (evidence.) The full list of his victims is unknown, but it's highly likely it's far more than the 11 he allowed himself to be convicted of.

He died at 53 on the hospital bed, after being on death row for more than 23 years. He was old for someone that should've been executed decades earlier.
Also, the idea of smart comes from his context. He dropped out of high school and had little to no education, yet he would often read, had an open mind and possessed certain skills that're not easily achieved on an average level. My point was that he had an impressive minimum knowledge given his lack of proper environment. Gil Carrillo and Frank Salerno, the sheriffs that took care of his case, spent a lot of time with Ramirez and agreed he was a bright one.
Now put down your fedora, special snowflake.

I find the criminal pathology of female serial killers incredibly interesting. It's interesting how women are underestimated in their capacity for brutality and depravity throughout history. Some historians think that unsolved mass murders throughout history could have been caused by women, but were never proven because it was unthink able that a woman would be capable of committing them. Women are quiet killers, unlike many male killers they don't seek media attention and kill inconspicuously. They usually kill family members, the weak the elderly ect. I find it fascinating how women killers seem to take out their anger, their hurt on children but often in a less brutal way than their male counter parts.
Miyuki Ishikawa, killed 103 infants in the 1940s. Claimed she was saving them from future misery. Served 4 years in jail
Jane toppan, confessed to killing 30 patients by experimenting on them with morphine and atropine. Claimed her goal was “to have killed more people – helpless people – than any other man or woman who ever lived.” committed to an asylum.

This. Simply because of how astonishingly brazen this attack was

In the early hours of January 15, 1978—one week after his arrival in Tallahassee—Bundy entered FSU's Chi Omega sorority house through a rear door that had a faulty locking mechanism.[190] Beginning at about 2:45 am he bludgeoned Margaret Bowman, 21, with a piece of oak firewood as she slept, then garroted her with a nylon stocking.[191] He then entered the bedroom of 20-year-old Lisa Levy and beat her unconscious, strangled her, tore one of her nipples, bit deeply into her left buttock, and sexually assaulted her with a hair mist bottle.[192] In an adjoining bedroom he attacked Kathy Kleiner, breaking her jaw and deeply lacerating her shoulder; and Karen Chandler, who suffered a concussion, broken jaw, loss of teeth, and a crushed finger.[193] Tallahassee detectives later determined that the four attacks took place in a total of less than 15 minutes, within earshot of more than 30 witnesses who heard nothing.[190] After leaving the sorority house Bundy broke into a basement apartment eight blocks away and attacked FSU student Cheryl Thomas, dislocating her shoulder and fracturing her jaw and skull in five places. She was left with permanent deafness, and equilibrium damage that ended her dance career.[194] On Thomas's bed police found a semen stain and a pantyhose "mask" containing two hairs "similar to Bundy's in class and characteristic".

I've never heard of any other serial killer just straight up charging into a house full of 30 people, attacking/killing multiple people and escaping into the night. It doesn't even seem possible.

Basically he went to the police to turn himself in, told them what he had done, and they were like "yeah, nice roleplaying, faggot, get the fuck out", so he just went home again. In the end, someone decided that it's better to search his property just to be sure, so they went there and dug up over 300 corpses in his backyard. I'll try to see if i can find his name again.

He was terrified of being executed, and was basically using everything as an excuse to seem sympathetic out of the hope his sentence owuld be commuted.

Ironically, most of his murders happened in Washington, which probably wouldn't have executed him. If he hadn't run to Florida and committed the Chi Omega attack, he probably wouldn't be dead. Some Washington prosecuters even tried to negotiate a deal to let Bundy stand trial in Washington, but Florida turned him down because they wanted to make sure he died.

This. Despite his huge kill count, The Last Podcast on the Left (a podcast about killers) only devoted one episode to him, while virtually every other American serial killer got two to four. He had no real "flair" about him. Plus he only targeted low value individuals (truck stop prostitutes) which makes his count less impressive than someone like Bundy or BTK.

I've heard the "US isn't as bad as such and such place" excuse so many times on so many issues... and so much of the time it's turned out that the US is way worse.

>>18523786
There's a couple of things I would look up. There's been a couple of issues over the years that have caused actual brain damage in the US population like the continued use of leaded petrol products, and of course this affects some areas more than others. I would wonder if Seattle has those issues, especially around gestation time for some of those guys.

He got a new corpse when they started to putrify. This is why dahmer tried making a zombie. He didnt like killing but what option did he have when lifeless passive bodies are the only thing that satisfies him.
>>
>>18528535
He only went on so long because the local law enforcement sucked balls. One of the lead detectives somehow became the Sheriff after letting him go the first time, then caught him again a few years later only with DNA. Now he's in the House of Representatives for Washington. Gary Ridgway was a total idiot, he's lucky to have killed as much as he did.

I don't think Chikatilo was dumb. He was just a very traumatized and stained individual, haunted by his impotence and the insecurities it gave him. Faking insanity at his trial. A deeply interesting psychological portrait, unlike Ridgeway, who had a low IQ, a pretty easy life and easy targets.

No, just google "dahmer glistening of organs" and you'll find that it's directly quoted from his trial. It's never about the lifeless body when it came to him. That's more to the likes of a necrophiliac, i.e. Bundy, Ridgway or Nilsen. Dahmer was almost definitely on the autism spectrum and possibly had borderline personality disorder, not psychopathy. That is why most nerds/tumblr girls tend to identify with him.

David Ray Parker, 'The Toy Box Killer'.

Without a fucking doubt. The way he constructed his mobile torture chamber, fucked with his victims (excuse the pun) psychologically. Making them listen to a tape, if even half of all that is reality then he was really six and twisted individual. Killing is one thing, but actually putting your victims through that much physical and psychological torture is a whole other thing. A true sadist, not doing it for the kick of the kill.

All three women were heavy drug users, as was proven in the toxicology reports. Two were prostitutes. All three bodies were found in the same creek, by a bridge or for the last victim - stuffed in a culvert.

>>Tuscarawas River (Tuscarawas County, OH): ~1 hr from Zanesville, 2005
April 2005, the decomposing body of a white woman who had been missing since February is found floating down the Tuscarawas River. She was a known prostitute and drug user. Around three months later, in August, the relatively fresh body of a black woman is quickly found floating down the same stretch of river. Little detail exists on Flenoury, but it would appear that she was in a similar circumstance as Donna. Both were from Akron, 45 minutes from where the bodies were found.

>>Chilicothe, OH : 2014--

Four found dead, two still missing. Three of the victims were found in or near the Chilicothe waterways, one of them, again, was stuffed into a culvert. All were heavy drug users and most were prostitutes.

http://www.cnn.com/2015/06/26/us/chillicothe-ohio-missing-women/

All of these bodies were found in towns of under 25,000. The perpetrator behind these is intelligent, making an effort not to stick to a specific M.O. (C.O.D. varies) besides always placing the bodies in a waterway, a culvert, or by a bridge if he is unable to make it to the shoreline. He does this to help get rid of potential DNA and speed up decomposition. It's worth noting that he kills interracially, but I believe this individual is white. He is unmarried, most likely a loner, as evidenced by the fact that he is able to hold onto the bodies for a month or two. He doesn't live in these towns, but near them in a rural location.

I'm going to make my humble contribution and leave a couple of less well known killers that I have not seen mentioned in this thread.

Harold Shipman. According to wikipedia, killed his victims by giving them lethal doses of morphine, something that according to wikipedia, is similar to his own mother's death.
Then he's send them for cremation and forge their will in order to make some money. It's assumed that he killed over 200 people, mostly elderly women.
Then he commited suicide in prison without ever confessing.

This "Charles Manson never killed anyone himself" meme needs to die. The Family probably killed upwards of thirty people in total. Manson killed several of them himself according to Family members. Just because he wasn't convicted of those particular murders doesn't mean he didn't commit them.

I told someone in real life that Manson once personally killed a Black Panther with his own sword then kept the sword as a trophy in his dune buggy. When I turned my back the guy said that was the biggest pile of bullshit he'd ever heard. It blows my mind how much this meme has infested the minds of people who've never read anything on the subject.

John Mark Byers' knife (1993)
John Mark Byers, the adoptive father of victim Christopher Byers, gave a knife to cameraman Doug Cooper, who was working with documentary makers Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofsky while filming the first Paradise Lost feature. The knife was a folding hunting knife manufactured by Kershaw. According to the statements given by Berlinger and Sinofsky, Cooper informed them of his receipt of the knife on December 19, 1993. After the documentary crew returned to New York, Berlinger and Sinofsky were reported to have discovered what appeared to be blood on the knife. HBO executives ordered them to return the knife to the West Memphis Police Department. The knife was not received at the West Memphis Police Department until January 8, 1994.

Byers initially claimed the knife had never been used. However, after blood was found on the knife, Byers stated that he had used it only once, to cut deer meat. When told the blood matched both his and Chris' blood type, Byers said he had no idea how that blood might have gotten on the knife. During interrogation, West Memphis police suggested to Byers that he might have left the knife out accidentally, and Byers agreed with this.[10] Byers later stated that he may have cut his thumb. Further testing of the knife produced inconclusive results about the source of the blood. Uncertainty remained due to the small amount of blood [10] and because both John Mark Byers and Chris Byers had the same HLA-DQα genotype.

Byers agreed to and passed a polygraph test about the murders during the filming of Paradise Lost 2: Revelations, but the documentary indicated that Byers was under the influence of several psychoactive prescription medications that could have affected the test results.

Shoko Asahara freaks me out, he is the nearest society ever got to producing a "James Bond" supervillain until Soros came along. Shoko had enough nerve gas to kill 10 million people (at the point of his arrest) and was attempting to acquire rockets from the fallen Soviet states to deliver the payload. He had also tried to procure SDI weapons (laser weapons) and allegedly purchased an old HAARP platform in Australia, not to mention his own personal Kalshnikov factory.

Jeffrey Dahmers' bizarre systems of belief are quite fascinating too, it has to be said...

I doubt Zodiac was real. There's a real case that it was a hoax. At least as far as the letters. They had erroneous info released through other channels. Might've just been someone shitposting before the internet.

>>
>>18532737
Some of them had physical evidence and unreleased details though. At the very least the letter writer murdered that taxi driver.

The question is really how many of the murders that the Zodiac claims to have done were done by the Zodiac.
>>
>>18532756
>Some of them had physical evidence and unreleased details though.

The theory out there relating to a hoax supposes that a person that did have access to the evidence took an additional tear of the shirt. There is the potential that Zodiac was an attempt at a training exercise for dealing with an actual serial killer in a really shitty way. And then it turned into a meme. Like Jack The Ripper.

What was he talking to her about? Was he threatening her for old time's sake? Was he apologizing?

A lot of them aren't even good at killing, they just killed people society didn't care about (poor druggie prostitutes) so they got away with it for a while. But many of them made a lot of really stupid mistakes or didn't bother trying to hide themselves all that well.

No, it's actually more likely for them to be intelligent. It's the rare cases like Rader and Ridgway that are composed of idiocy. Israel Keyes had done the same thing prior many times and got along fine. The problem with it this time was that his victim was already missing and being looked for. He had a lapse in his thought process and it cost him. That was literally his only mistake.

Where are your citations? Look at the books, there's way more intelligent psychopaths and serial killers than there are dumb ones. Sure, some are extremely impulsive, like Bobby Long, but that doesn't mean they're stupid and don't know what they're doing.

>The average serial killer has an IQ 94.7. Although various tests measure IQ, a score of 90 to 110 is usually considered "average" intelligence. A serial killer with average IQ is also the most likely to strangle or shoot their victims. Serial killers who have used bombs show, on average, higher IQs, while those who used poison exhibited the lowest.
http://www.businessinsider.com/a-surprising-look-at-the-average-serial-killer-2015-5

The point being that once you move away from TV drama the average serial killer is not particularly intelligent, and a handful of smart ones like Kemper don't cross out the fact that some of them were practically retarded.

Yeah, the Green River Task force really dropped the ball on him a number of times. They basically went through periods of fixating on certain suspects (none of which were him), which meant they ignored the case against him for years. My pic would be Ottis Toole. Why? Because he's the happiest serial killer I seen with absolutely no concept of right vs wrong. He doesn't have the intensity of other serial killers. He could be your best friend on a road trip and he'd just casually point his finger at someone wondering if you'd want to rape and kill that hitchhiker with him, set this building on fire, abduct a child to torture, rape and kill, join a satanic cult for the fuck of it and think it's all funny as fuck.

Speaking of cults, Ottis gives strong credence to the Hand of Death, a Satanic cult of drug smugglers he claims he and Henry Lee Lucas joined to smuggle American kids to Mexico to star in snuff films, sacrifice people (he goes really in-depth as far as the ancient Gods the Hand of Death worship and the rituals, something an idiot with a 75 IQ like him could never come up with). The rituals may be related to the Palo Mayombe / Santeria rituals popular amongst some drug dealers around Mexico, Texas and Florida.
