Pic friend took when we were inside some abandoned hydro-electric plant near my house. First floor was mostly rusty machinery in huge, open rooms while the second floor was similar to an office building with old computers and all. We found a calendar dated 2007 so I assume that's when the place was last in use. For some reason there was a LOT of Christmas decorations lying around upstairs, pic related was one of them.

Sounds like he dies from a devolved allergy to mold in his house. Once you become allergic to mold spores they give you severe flu symptoms and can die if you don't get away from them.

From a medical standpoint, you are talking out of your ass. It could have been anything. Including flu.
>>
>>18525207
>once you become allergic to mold spores
>???

literally anyone can be allergic to mold, it's one of the main causes of allergies in autumn due to everything decomposing. exhibiting flu like symptoms is a sign of a serious allergic reaction whereas most individuals who are allergic to mold simply take allergy medicine or go to a doctor for a prescription one
>>
>>18520430
That's obviously an agenda pic you find in internet modified with photoshop
c'mon.
>>
>>18527954
Mold allergies worsen over time. If you have a messy house aspergillus, stachybrotrys, and penicillum will flourish. Each of them will develop their own allergy and each one can kill you.
>>
>>18527991
>>18527954
There's quite a handful of things that start with flu like symptoms that can kill you. You two are playing a complete guessing game here, with no clues at all.
I mean you can only say he died at some point after May 4th., but from what we know, it might have been that night or even have been weeks later.

creepy house.jpg

There's a pretty creepy house in the town I went to HS in. I've always wanted to go poke around, but it's in a terrible location. It's at the bottom of a hill, right on a super busy road, and the town's police department HQ is probably less than 100 yards away.

It's been "for sale" for years, since I moved to the town. It looks very old and run down, obviously no one actually lives there and no one has for ages. The creepiest part is that it's right next to a cemetery, which is why I'm assuming no one will buy it. That and it looks like it was built in the 1910s and never modernized. It's such a weird little property, like one that time forgot. It's right on a busy road, and behind it is a large neighborhood with homes built in the last couple decades (I'm just guessing, but they look like typical suburban American houses. Can't have been built earlier than the 70s or 80s I guess).

I'm just really curious about it. Why don't the owners knock it down and sell the land? Do they really think someone will buy it? It'd be super expensive to modernize it, and probably cheaper to knock it down and build a nice new house. It's not even for sale by a realtor it seems, the only indication it's for sale is a large, hand painted sign that says "FOR SALE" on it right by the front door.

Now that I moved back home, it's only a 20 minute drive, but like I said, I can't imagine there being a good time to check it out. Maybe I'll head there one day soon, it seems so interesting. I guess I could call the number on the for sale sign, but I don't imagine that getting me anywhere.

I'm not sure how cemeteries work, or if they work the same everywhere in the US. You're probably right, but still some of my point stand. I'm assuming they contract the groundskeeper work now so they don't have a keeper living on the property (and trying to find new groundskeepers is probably pretty difficult). Buy why keep the house around? Why not just knock it down and expand the cemetery or sell the land? It's already a hard sell, I don't think many people want to live right next to a cemetery (and it's not even in a real prime location, it's a moderately busy road and you can only turn left out of the driveway).

As you can see in the picture I posted, they planted some trees between 2007 and 2015, which is more confusing. Do they think a few cheap trees will make the property more appealing? Do they really think someone is going to live in that house? I'm tempted to call and see what they're asking, but I expect it to be pretty ridiculous.

I don't have the screencap, but there wasn't much to the story really; a guy had some of his old friends over for drinks in his neighbourhood. There were multiple abandoned buildings in the area, so they decided to poke around them for the hell of it. There's a musty, shitty smell coming from the first one they go into and someone is convinced there's someone in the living room. They quickly realise he's dead, all freak out a bit, leave, call the cops.

Anon decides to go back and get some photos before the cops arrive. Realise that he's not just some OD'd drug addict, get the feels.

I remember the original thread on /b/ being reposted on /x/, so information was coming out live.

I'll have a look in my own photography folders to see if anything is fittingly "creepy".

One thing I'm really pissed off about is that there was this one abandoned hotel in Dublin (well, it wasn't strictly abandoned because a bunch of anarchist squatters had called it their own and would host events inside) that had a really interesting, mysterious mural on the wall of the old ball room.

It was circular, depicting what looked like a shadowy or black mountain range, and all around the edges were the Rosicrucian/alchemical phrase "Visita Interiora Terrae Rectificando Invenies Occultum Lapidem Veram Medicinam".

Now, it was really painstakingly done, if a bit amateurish, and I have no idea who did it or why it was there. I've asked the local occulty crowd if anyone knows anything and nothing has come back to me yet. The place was shut down last year unfortunately, so I can't even ask any of the squatters if they knew who did it.

Pic related is the only image I could find that shows it. The people below are just a writing workshop who use whatever cheap space they can find.

Not urban, but here's a very much abandoned castle off the motorway in Louth where a fucking massacre took place in the mid-1600s, where 250 to 300 people were slaughtered, likely due to familial/clan related rivalry and English Irish tension ramping up.

That's roughly 5 stories of a drop beyond those wet stones there. This fucking guy just brazenly walked along the wall, not afraid of the wind or water, to see over the fields.

I ended up sucking it up and following him. The path was mostly wide enough anyway, until you got to one of the corners and had to shimmy around a cornerpiece.
Looking at it in photos or if it was only a foot off the ground, there's more than enough space to walk without risking your balance. But when you have that drop looking up at you and the wind threatening to push you, you're not so sure of yourself.

Not overly creepy, but this is from the remains of a chapel at an old Seminary that was supposedly haunted, but torn down. Front of the *Cooneen ghost house.

These were taken during the day as a part of a little scouting mission for a paranormal investigation group I was going to make a documentary about. We came back another night when it was pitch black out.

It's in the middle of fucking nowhere, just beside some forestry used for timber. As you can probably tell from the previous picture, the path to it is completely overgrown. It's nigh-invisible from the road so we were lucky to find it.

So, the story behind the house goes thus;
Shortly after the death of her husband, the house of Ms. Murphy was plagued by poltergeist activity. Flying furniture, unexplainable aggressive knocking, scratches on the kid's skin, the usual.
They called in the priest, Father Murphy. who attested to seeing shapes form and move on the walls. He performed two exorcisms on the house, but neither worked and the activity seemed to get more violent following them.

People started to blame the Murphy family for the haunting, pinning it on a story that the son had found a mysterious book in the forest and was practising witchcraft.
So, ostracised from the community and living in a haunted hell-hole, they just packed up and got on a boat to America. Though, some say they never escaped the poltergeist and that it simply followed them across the sea...

*correction, he was called Father Coyle
The story seems at least somewhat legit as all names mentioned appear on censuses in the period they should.
But there are undoubtedly added embellishments to a bunch of retellings of the story. I've heard various banshee superstition and vaguely Catholic v Protestant angles on it, but there seems to be a genuine historical event under all of that.

Personally, the house definitely had an atmosphere on the day I took these. It was very eerie, with a thick air around it. The pressure actually made one of the people I was with feel it in his chest. Worried it could have been a heart problem, we opted to leave soon after he said that, though it cleared up once we left.

When we came back however, the house seemed fucking dead. But everything surrounding the trip had me shitting myself.

1- We were driving from mid-Louth, which is roughly an hour and a bit away from the destination. Our driver, the same guy with the sensation in his chest, was a fucking lunatic. It was pitch black out, and he was HAULING ASS over windy, hilly backroads that he didn't know. At one point we nearly crashed into a road barrier some cunt left in our way without a single sign or light to say it was there. Then he got lost, ended up going back the way we came, and turned it into a 3 hour trip. At one point the fucker got air off a steep hill and, because one of our passengers was a big fat lady, ended up slamming the bottom of the car off the ground when he landed.

2- The person who told me about this house used to be from the area and is a bit of a sly shit, I guess. He used to do all sorts of illegal boarder hopping, robbing and smuggling and such, and I wouldn't be surprised if he was in some sort of IRA splinter.
He tells me, straight and in all seriousness, that we need to either tell the local police station or announce at the pub that we're going to be there at night. Otherwise some gang, IRA or otherwise, would be likely to show up and kick the shit out of/kill us for "trespassing". The ghost hunters thought that was nonsense and did no such thing when they organised the trip, even though I fucking told them 10+ times.

3- We get there after 3 hours of terror in a piece of shit car (whose speedometer didn't work btw), I'm fucking starving and it's raining and cold and crap. We wonder around for less than an hour. It's shit. No fucking spooky feelings for recordings or anything. I mean, yeah, paranormal investigations tend to come up with sweet fuck all, but we got even less than that. So we go to leave. I'm delighted, vowing to myself to not enable these children again, then two fucking cars pull up in front of the exit...

Oh shit, I think to myself. We're fucking done for now.
A bunch of lads start pouring out of the car, coming towards us singing belligerently, shouting. Clearly they're here because they know we're here.
All that can be done really is to try and talk my way around them. So I try to make it as quick as I can, say we're a film crew scouting locations, which means there isn't much to say beyond "Yeah, we're thinking of making a short film about the house".

Then, fucking dumb shit cunt fuck asshole prick who can't fucking drive, says "lol, we're ghost hunters". Which only makes the 10 drunken lads not want to let us go because they have all sorts of questions and stories to tell us now. They try to get us to stay, come back into the house with them.

Fucking FINALLY I get them to move on, after 10 agonizing minutes of trying to not get on the wrong side of a gang in a dark remote wood while two guys hide in the car that pulled up, watching us intently.
We get in our own car, leave, and I never go back.

Needless to say, I didn't end up making the documentary about these chucklefucks. Last I heard, they've fallen apart because they can't organise a piss-up in a brewery.

Dogs don't eat their owners, cats do.

A dog will starve to death if you die and it has no food because of this.

From that thumbnail I thought you might be talking about MY house.

Which people also think is haunted even though I very obviously live there and have pizza delivered pretty often.

What a sheltered snowflake view of life you have.
