after i exhausted the dump in this thread last night i went browsing through the creepypasta wikia or whatever. i was surprised by how many of the pastas i liked ~5 years ago seem so poorly written now. for some reason, at this point i almost never read a pasta unless it's supposedly true. if it claims to be true and the author somehow manages to remember every single word spoken between himself and whoever, every tiny inflection of someone's voice and describing the setting in ridiculous detail, i'm out.

See, two main parts really get to me- the "maybe it was just something in the corn. There're a lot of things in the corn that nobody really wants to talk about," because it sounds like some mass-neurosis conspiracy, and very ominous and slightly sad.

The other is the final line where he talks about setting himself on fire to "see what it would be like," because it is deeply eerie, and intensely depressing, and also wistful, but insane.
